I titled it the way I did because Destiny isn't a conventional rpg.. But regardless of what you think it is, it is different, and plays differently than world of warcraft or even skyrim. I got a legendary engram from farming, as well as a load of blue ones without even trying.. Something was makin the drop rate shit these things out as if it just had a rotten 5 layer burrito from taco bell, so naturally I was fascinated and stayed for more engrams.. Anyway, I got an exotic for my class right out of the legendary.. But I wasn't amazed. I felt as if I cheated for it. I didn't find it on a quest, I just created its existence rather than it creating itself in a scenario where I kill a hard boss or something.

Shooting at the cave may not be cheating, but it sure is boring.

No it isn't. If farming wasn't meant to be done it wouldn't be possible. Hacking or exploiting glitches is cheating though. With the amount of connection problems many people are having and not being able to get into crucible matches without being booted after 2 minutes, farming is the only way some people will only be able to get their hands on decent gear. Also, some people can't plow 10+ hours a day into the game like a lot of the hardcore gamers can, and being a single father having a 5 month old son to care for, I only get 2-3 hours an evening to put into the game. So if I want to spend an hour farming then a couple of hours doing strikes, bounties etc, then I bloody well will do. Same goes for many others.

I voted no. It's a form of boosting, the entire upgrade system is, but not an illegitimate one in any sense. IMO, cave farming etc... may actually be more time consuming and less rewarding than reaching faction ranks and saving crucible and vanguard marks.

I sit down when I pee. Nothin' that crazy 'bout me.

Farming I would say no. Any MMO will have it to get the stuff you need. And there will always be people that find the fastest easiest and cheapest way to get ahead.
