Seems I ran into the two end all Error Codes...

I, like many others it seems, have been having consistent errors and disconnects from Destiny. I had thought it was merely a problem with running only being able to run wifi. I've been bearing with it and enjoying the game for the most part in the periods of connectivity that I am able to get. Usually I just sit there trying over & over to connect to the game. It's leveled my character a fair bit beyond his missions, but I don't really mind. Then I received the error code "Nightingale" & looked it up because it was an unfamiliar code. It said I need to unistall & reinstall Destiny. I thought, great, maybe this will fix things. However upon reinstalling when attempting to connect & download another new message appeared. Error code "Boar", this one says that there is a mismatched location between my PSN & Destiny account/game. It suggests creating a new PSN account, which I did but it says to "Ensure that the region of your new PSN account matches the game's region." So I connect with the new account & get the same error before I can ever start downloading anything... Primary question follows, How do I find out what my game's region is? & when did my PSN have a region input other than my country? Is there a way to recover from this? Any chance of me playing this game some more? I do really enjoy the game & want to be optimistic but it's getting a little difficult at this point.

    • I received the nightingale error, however; before I follow anyone's directions to uninstall anything, I first check the hardware, connections, etc..... First I took my hard drive out, put it back in, and walaa. That was all I had to do. So far, so good. Guess we will see.

    • A seemingly easy fix I just read said to press the PS button on your controller before the error message appears. That may bring up the download page that is suppose to appear. If not, below is the method I used and worked well for me (it is more time consuming, however.) The steps on Bungie do work if followed exactly. Uninstall Destiny from your system. Create a new account in the United Kingdom. You can put any address in as long as UK is the region. Put your disc in and select it to begin the update. Here is the crucial step I think people aren't doing. Once this initial update is finished, DO NO PRESS THE X BUTTON TO PLAY. Close the game and switch to your original user account. Now start the game again and press X to play. It will bring up a dialogue to install the Compatibility Pack. Do this and you should be playing soon.

    • On Xbox the region should not matter as the game and the console have to have matching regions to begin with. With PS only the DLC is region locked, and I have never had a region problem with any game on my PS3, and I am in Asia with a US screen name since I started my account when in the US. To answer your question though there should be a code on the game box spine. For PS it is four letters, example BLUS for the US, or BLAS for Asia, or BLES for Europe I believe. On Xbox again the game has to be regioned for the console, but you will again have the region coding on the box spine, saying NTSC, or PAL.
