Destiny (PS4) Mid-Review

Before I begin note: Warlock, Hunter, Titan. No one is overpowered. No one is underpowered. Just pick one that is best suited to your playing style & play. I chose to be a Titan. Destiny (PS4) Mid-Review Destiny, the game developed by Bungie, creators of Halo, is fun, beautiful & challenging. Three days have past and I have already reached level 20. It was not easy and I have put in tons of playing time since the midnight release. I have not beaten the game, in fact I just got to Venus, fighting the robotic Vex! How ever I have played enough to give a good thought out score for the overall game. Playing with friends is a whole lot better than playing without friends. Now you can easily say that about every other game, but unlike GTA 5, Call of Duty games, Destiny does not have a Voice Chat system outside your fireteam. So you can not hear or speak to other players in the universe. That is something I really hope the developers change. Voice Chat is a mild thing, now the Graphics are a Spicy thing. Well they're just beautiful. That may be an understatement. The graphics can not be overlooked or under appreciated. Bungie did an amazing job with this game. The skies look like masterpieces, each world is rich with color, or at least the colors pop out enough. Venus is absolutely the most beautiful of all. The exotic looking worlds do sometimes get boring or lonely without friends to play with, but that can be easily fixed with a Voice Chat System. However there are plenty of enemies to defeat, missions to complete, loot to be found & Public Events to be joined. Public Events are definitely a plus when it comes to being out in Explore Mode. You will be notified when an Event is about to happen. You can join it with other players or just ignore and go a long with your business. Joining will give you an opportunity to be rewarded items. These Public Events consist of taking down a Devil Walker to protecting a fallen satellite while your ghost scans it. I would highly recommend to join a Public Event, as they aren't as frequent as I would like them to be, they're very fun. Playing PvP was the biggest concern I had. I'm a big PvP critic as I absolutely love to climb leaderboards and stomp on other players, or at least to try. I wish there was a Voice Chat System outside your fireteam. I would like to tell the level 24 Warlock on the other team, that he is a (insert explicit) and that I'm going to take this win. I'm a competitive player, but really, I should be able to talk to the other team or other players in my team that are not in my fireteam. PvP gaming is becoming a, so called "Sport". I agree and support the cause. How ever, in actual sports, like football, teams can communicate to eachother and with eachother. For some people it causes more of a competitive urge, which is great for the game, because it means you will want to play more to keep beating that guy or team. Or maybe just play all night to finally beat that one in particular. Moving on, guns are great, feels smooth, haven't lagged or glitched yet. I will point out that sprinting and turning at the same time, do not go well in this game. I will get used to this, but playing other PvP games, you want that quick movement so you can react as fast as possible. Bothers me just a little. Hopefully developers tweak it. Other than that, game modes are awesome. Vehicles bring a big challenge in the big maps. People will complain that the vehicles are overpowered, how ever I believe they are just perfect. In the Beta, the tanks were just too powerful, shooting wise. The fire rate was tweaked, just like players asked for. Customization is huge to me. You can make your character a blue alien, robot type or just a plain human. After that you have plenty of options when it comes to colors & emblems. You can change armour color, which is well appreciated. You can even buy different colored Sparrows & Space Ships. Now Bungie was correct in saying, the game will take longer to do a complete review on compared to other games. I would definitely not wait to read a review so you can make a decision on whether or not to get the game. Just get the game. Destiny is not perfect, but is super close to it. No brainer to be leading the race for Game of the Year award. It’s beautiful, different, fun, new and the next biggest franchise. It is Destiny. DigitalBattleKingz Grade - 9.3/10 Good- - Graphics look beautiful. - Customization is great. - Multiplayer is expanded, story & PvP. - Missions are fun, especially with others. Bad- - Voice Chat System needs upgrade. - Level difference hurts in PvP. - Story has little dialogue. - Game is not as fun without friends. P.S. Join DBK, DigitalBattleKingz Clan.
