You obviously didnt play minecraft or any oblivion which also doesnt eplain how to do most things you can do, even in skyrim. I agree but disagree, the story stuff i like they dont explain, leaves a mystery to find figure out eventually. Some game machanics not so much but are very easy to figure out on your own just by playing the game and actually PAY ATTENTION! I know god forbid if we make people do that these days and not hold there hands.

  • I like most of the things we dont know but are hinted at my biggest problem with the story/world is where is all the lore? Amd why are there no other characters in it that it gave me to care about and feel for when things happen to them that is the big dissapointment for me. Like why are non of the vangaurd gaurdians j n cinimatics or story just vendors? Thats what i hate

  • I do pay attention but the information just isn't there. Where can I find out about the gun elements. In games like skyrim there were lore books that you could read to learn more, minecraft was built around the idea of trying things to find new game mechanics but that isn't the case with destiny. Destiny doesn't explain things or point you in the right direction to go figure it out, it just doesn't tell you which leaves you lost, confused and stop caring. Also the mystery is completely arbitrary since all the characters including mine seem to know and accept stuff and its only me who is out of the loop. I should know everything my character knows since I am supposed to be apart of this world through this character.

  • Except me and hundreds of other people figured it out too? But i do agree with you about it. But then the point of figuring things out on your own and exploring and trying new things goes out the window and that is lame. As far as story goes people play this with this preset thought that it should be like a shooter but when you play you should thinkbof . it in terms of playing a campaign like diablos or skyrims.

  • I think they over did the mystery side to the point where most people just didn't know what was happening, why you are going here or doing this they fail to mention why the last city is safe when the traveler is in a coma they could have just said something like "we dont know what stopped the darkness at this city we were just glad to still be alive" doesnt reveal any information but grabs peoples attentions and makes them wonder and try to guess what the traveler could have done to stop the darkness if it even was the traveler at all when we need to get to the [spoiler]black garden[/spoiler] never mentions why its mysterious since your ghost clearly have prior knowledge of its existence so its not that mysterious so is it because no guardians ever returned alive? or kept seeing references to it in Vex computers but didn't know it actually existed? just little details that can make or break a story

  • Nothing is stopping the darkness from the city? The darkness is gone the traveler gave itself to drive the darkness off and we gaurdians and the wall keep the enamy away but we are noticing the darkness returning and nothing will be there to stop it. All that is abvious and what is unexplained by that is the mystery?! If they told us that that whats the point of even having a story? Like i said before you have to think . of it in terms of a game that about grinding were yiu have to go to . places youve been amd do. Things youve done just b.s. likeb j n games like skyrim amd wow amd diablo. If story was more like one from cod or halo you would never wanna go back and do those things as often. Spelling is horrible im,on tablet too annying to fix errors sorry with gf getting bitched at haha

  • lol no worries dude n sorry for late reply been letting my friend play destiny on my console this weekend since she probably wont be able to get it til end of uni the darkness has enough man power to occupy most of earth, moon, venus and mars whats stopping them just sending a fleet to the city? or just bombing the city from orbit? skyrim doesnt have a strong narrative with cut scenes and such but the story is still told decently well you never feel like a mission has been given to you because you have nothing better to do for example when the "stranger" messages you and tells you to go to venus your guardian doesnt question it just goes there on a whim as if he doesnt have any other duties as a guardian to do if there was a cutscene where you tell head guardian of your class about the stranger n they reply with [i]"hmm no guardian matching that description was assigned to that area..... ill have echo team take over your duties on the moon, you investigate this stranger on venus"[/i] it just adds more purpose to your actions without even changing the mission it has a great idea of a story with a desperate such to restore the traveler but fails on the execution just like halo 1 to reach in my opinion halo 4 was the first 1 to make an engaging story with some kind of emotional depth
