Show me a link where they 12:00 am 9/9 on international date line and not WHEN IT'S 9/9 SOMEWHERE IN THE WORLD.
By opening the servers at the international date line they are allowing the people who live on or near the international date line close to 24 hours before 3/4 world.
So show me a link where they tell you they will screw over 3/4 of the world on there midnight release.

You are saying that letting the people in New Zealand, Australia , England, Europe, and 3/4 of the world BE ABLE to play the game they just purchased at Tuesday 1201 is unfair ?!! WOW!!?? It's unfair to you?? Please take a minute and put yourself into their shoes. Imagine you went to gamestop at midnight to buy a game....you buy the game....return home and put the game into your system...the screens pops up and says " thank you BUT you CAN NOT PLAY THIS Game until tomorrow at 6 pm"! "You can't play until the rest of the world has caught up in timezones!" If they made the rest of the world WAIT until it was 12 pacific THAT would screw over 3/4 of the people. If they did NOT allow people that bought the game to be able to play until 15 hours or more later that would be unfair. Think whatever you like. You may want to imagine and think about how your would feel if you lived some where else. Enjoy the game. Its quite simple, everyone paid for the game in one way or another, so everyone should get to play at the same time, reguardless where they live, so what makes those people so special that they get to play before everyone else? There is absolutley nothing special about them. The way BUNGIE talks about everyone having the same chance in the game, means they will not allow 1 person to play before another. No where has anyone but people speculating when the servers will be open given a set time, and it's most of the people that live close to the international date line, that have been spreading the rumor that they will get to play before everyone else, that a nothing but trolls. Like I said show me proof that BUNGIE or Activision stated that people in NZ get to play before everyone else. You can't because that proof does not exist except in people's minds.

I don't understand what you're asking, when its 9/9 somewhere in the world the first place, like the op said, is NZ, which is 5am PST monday, thats when the first server opens.

No where has BUNGIE or Activision said that the servers are opening on 12 am 9/9 at the international date line. All they have said is somewhere in the world. It is very presumptuous to assume that they are talking about the first time zone, because that would allow people to play close to 1 day before the other half of the world. You have people that have bought the collectors edition and paid a lot of money around the world, so why should get to play a day before the rest, I only mention the collectors edition because it is the highest costing. As of now there is no set opening time for the server that we know of, it is all speculation.

LordVika, they stated that if it is 9/9 somewhere in the world and you have a game disk you'll be able to play. As soon as you have a disk (likely midnight in your local store) you can go home and get on the game. Grow up a little and stop thinking that the gaming world should revolve around your time zone.

First off somewhere does not mean exactly at 9/9 on the international date line. Second I never once stated that it should open in my time zone. As a matter of fact I have stated several times that I'm not expecting the servers to open on my time zone. You really should read every thing I said before you assume you know what I have said. As a matter of fact I have stated that I personally feel that the servers should open on the flip side of the international date line ( I forget what it's called ) so that it is a max of 12 hours apart that people have the chance to play. That would be the most fair time zone to open the severs at.

Hmm I never said anything about the international date line maybe you should read what I said again before you immediately reply. Your main point was that it is unfair that people in times zones ahead of you get to play the game before you (as read between lines as I assume you really don't care if someone else in another country plays a few hours after you do). The servers will be open for everyone at the same time, that has not changed. They stated it is up to your game store when you play. If game stop gives you your game you can play, if the game stores in Europe open before your local store they will play before you.

Since I went digital, I don't need to both with going to the store to get it. But you think its fair for people to pay over 100 dollars for a game and find out that people had 24 hours to play before they even got the game in there hands is ok? I understand you want a different server schedule but it's too late now. And it's a difficult task to open servers and release games with perfect equality for all. Oh and one more thing. Yesterday in one of your responses that "I didn't read" you didn't believe an article by a journalist explaining that the servers would be opening Monday (American time zone Monday). I believed you talked about not believing everything online, and him not listing his references and the servers would NOT be online because it gives that 20+ hour advantage you are mad about. Edited by FringedBard: 9/6/2014 7:44:59 AMthey have said that if you have a copy of destiny, and its 9/9 somewhere in the world, you can play. this means they are opening the servers for the midnight releases of NZ and Australia, the first big timezones to be hitting 12am. this has been pretty much fact for a good few weeks now. its very likely that your console will only let you play depending on what time zone you are in, fortunately you can just change your location. no need to be upset some of us will be playing on monday :)

No it doesn't, I just like everyone else can't wait to play destiny, but no where have they given a specific time for the servers to open. I have watched every interview and read every article about destiny and all they have said is that when you get home and it 9/9 somewhere in the world you can play, but again assuming they mean in NZ is presumptuous and speculation. Why would a company allow half the world to play before the other half?
