16 IS FAR TOO LOW!!!
ITS OBVIOUSLY BECAUSE OF LAST GEN!!!
Anyone else feel like the Tower was empty, even with max players? :(

5 RepliesJust enough people to play soccer in the courtyard

Edited by SaferMurderweapon: 9/7/2014 1:55:32 AMLol, no. There would be lots of stuttering and huge dips in FPS. Destiny was designed for last gen. Next gen is basically a "definitive" version of Destiny with slightly better visuals.

Yes Let it be unlimited. I long for the launch days in Ironforge.
-
2 RepliesMeanwhile, SOE are working on planetside 2 on PS4
-
2 RepliesMore likely networking. 16 is usually the cap for multiplayer games on consoles.

5 RepliesEdited by CompleteGEORGE: 9/6/2014 5:12:32 AMPhantasy star universe online remember that no well its was destiny on the 360 before destiny was out lol nd the main meeting place(tower) was able to holf a s+#* loads of people. So mayb its not the last gens fault/mayb it is.

3 RepliesEdited by Griff: 9/5/2014 8:31:57 PMNope, it seemed pretty lively out in the courtyard, either someone was messing with the soccer ball or the purple ball. At night (game wise) people would try to climb the tree. Those that did sat their character on one of the branches. Seemed pretty active to me.

1 ReplyI feel like the Tower should hold 24 people in it. :\ And exploration should fit at least 7 people. If it can, the most (and I explored a LOT. But yes yes, I know it was beta and other issues, etc) Ive ever seen was 3

I'd love to see player count bumped on next-gen. I know it's possible. We're too close to release now though, and I don't think that's something they'll patch in.
-
1 ReplyI wonder why they would go with sixteen instead of something divisible by three since a fireteam is supposed to be made up of three guardians. Eighteen would be more logical if this were the case. Weird.
-
Probably to keep down lag
-
Edited by Shadow: 9/5/2014 10:10:47 PMOr let's have 100000 ppl on the tower and let the constant lag and DC commence. Doesn't matter to me I'm only going to the tower to buy/sell, pvp concerns, twerking on NPCs for entertainment.
-
I felt like it was ok in the Beta. I really don't like the idea of having more players and it start lagging out while I'm just trying to buy a new piece of armor, etc.
-
8 Replies16 is fine. The Tower isn't even that large and thankfully it is homely. I don't care for 50 people running around.
-
2 RepliesWhere was this confirmed? And if it is 16 players maximum, that's fine with me. Having tons of players crowded around vendors sitting in a menu would be annoying and looks bad. 16 is a good number.
-
It's fine with me.
-
16 is ok by me. The tower is not like a huge city or anything. It would look WAY too crowded if there was like hundreds of ppl there.
-
1 ReplyImage it like the high school hall ways, but barley being able to move, all you want to do is get to the gunsmith but there is 100 people blocking your way
-
Accurate, last gen is holding us back
-
15 RepliesYeh it's wicked dumb. For such a "social" game there isn't one -blam!-ing social thing about it. 16 people? ZERO COMMUNICATION WITH ANYBODY in pve or YOUR OWN TEAM in pvp. Straight retarded
-
3 Repliesim ok with it...doesnt help if i see a 100 people crowd just standing there, final fantasy does it but its not even that cool maybe its because of ps3 and 360 but i want those people to play and have fun as well otherwise everyone would have to get a ps4 or xbox one
-
3 RepliesIm positive I saw more than 16 people in the beta
-
i certainly didn't during the beta, to the contrary, it felt quite lively
