Anyone else think it's odd that Exos wear helmets

Not that I really care much and understand the practical reasons, but I got to thinking in beta, why does a mechanical "person" who doesn't breath need the helmet, or even just why for protection when the helmet is the same looking material as their heads. Again, I'm not bitching, I totally get it's just programming continuity across the races, but I do chuckle thinking about the absurdity. Edit: Good catch, smartphone posting and didn't proof read, thanks.

  • If nothing else, it would be to protect their optics (or eyes) or auditory sensors (ears). Their entire face may be made of metal, however the ears would be made of a thinner, probably dampening material that would better collect sound and the eyes would be cameras with flimsy lenses. Can't risk damaging this all-important hardware. Can't very well complete a mission if you can't see or hear your surroundings..
