One thing I did not enjoy about the alpha and beta builds was the sense of isolation and loneliness I felt. Usually I only saw 3 or for people in old Russia. Since Destiny is going to be a FPS MMO, I think it should do a better job of living up to the MMO aspect. Each instance and server should be able to have a 77 player capacity. That way I will feel like I am playing with a community and it will make public events feel like a big battle or that I am exploring Bungie's world with an army of guardians.

Edited by KingSlayerKat: 8/30/2014 4:46:06 PMExcept, it's not an MMO.... I think servers hold 16 people(correct me if I'm wrong) and I think that's enough for one server, though 25-30 would probably be funner considering how big the maps are... also, proximity chat pls.

My feeling was quite the opposite. Guardians to me, are the explorers of the old world, a rare and exalted title. You shouldn't just feel like a number in the crowd while exploring.
-
More pointless droll from OP.
-
I know bungie likes its 7s but that is just too much. Its already a waiting game when 6-8 guardians are in a zone looking for waves to respawn.
-
Yes and that way our game can crash cause the wifi would be murdered

I AGREE ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
-
umm it is post apocalyptic hence the fact there isn't a lot of people around
-
No way you would never get to kill anything
-
While 3-5 is too little, 77 is too much. At most I sincerely believe the max player per area should be 10
-
YOUR IN RUSSIA 500 YEARS AFTER OUR TIME THAT'S THEE POINT YOUR ALONE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE ALONE THAT'S THE POINT IT'S NIT A STACKED MMO WHEN IT'S SO BAD YOU CAN'T EVEN SEE YOUR OWN GUNS THERE'S SO MANY PEOPLE INFRONT OF YOU THOSE 2 OR 3 PEOPLE ARE YOUR SQUAD N THE OTHER 3-4 ARE ANOTHER SQUAD IT'S SUPPOSE TO BE DESOLATE WASTELAND
-
It's not an MMO
-
77 player servers= 0 enemies and 0 chests
-
Edited by NeoMorph WTH: 8/30/2014 4:12:46 PMIt's not an MMO. END. OF. LINE.
-
You have a point. Why 77 ? Also I was thinking between 30-60.
-
i agree it doesn't feel much of a shared world experience when you only see like 3 or 4 other people.
-
Bungie already went in on this. They want you to feel like you are one of the few guardians that will save the world. If there are 76 other guardians running side by side through Old Russia, then you wouldn't get this feeling of isolation and extinction that has come to the world.
-
30 ppl is good to me
-
I see what you did there. 77 on the 7th
-
My God this is the worst possible suggestion. Imagine trying to get to objectives with EVERYTHING cleared out already because of the insane amount of players in the zone. It would be extremely boring and unsatisfying. The only TRUE MMO aspect that Destiny has is raids and competitive matchmaking. I hope they keep it that way.
-
Destiny isn't an MMO, your post is invalid.
-
It's not an MMO though. It just uses MMO elements. It's an instanced shooter and has always meant to be. Just look at early builds from E3 2013.
-
But it's not an FPSMMO. It's a "shared world shooter".
-
i noticed the same, but i'm wondering if it's due what system you were on or maybe something else. beta is different. they should have sufficient about of servers and bandwidth. load testing is what they were doing besides other things like ensuring there is not so much buggy code. i am confident we'll be fine.
-
so at the busiest point of the beta wouldnt that mean that there were 11,169 concurrent server instances??????? Now im not much of a networks / servers guys but that seems pretty ... well.. ridiculous !!
-
I think a little more than 3 would be cool maybe like 7, but not 77
