No actually. Can't remember the specifics but in the beta there was something or someone that said they wanted to get everyone to stop worshipping the traveller and make their own new government with a king. Hence the name, New Monarchy. They want to usurp the Traveler.

Yeah that's why I said that they would want to protect it, and not just say "out with the orb". Maybe they want to still protect it but don't want people to worship it.
