I would like to stick to wired, but perhaps the A50s are very good on their own?
I'm contemplating the new TBs because they are the 1st TBs that have 7.1 SS for xbone and have a wireless chat (no stupid chatpad it sounds like)

I don't know but I got the TB 500 twice and I would wait a little. They just are not polished and smooth like there 360 wireless models. Funny thing is that the unpolished parts just seem like dumb oversights like the headset is on if you plug it into charge. The way the on/off button works. I have the XO7 pro headset. It's stereo still but it's got the new adapter with mic monitoring and a bass and treble boost and they are $150-160. Hope that helps

I have the Limited Edition Halo A50s and they are amazing!!! Its X1 exclusive but you can use a certain cable from the headset to controller. I just re-used mine from my turtle beaches and works well except for some buzzing certain times.

I have a pair of A40s. They are wonderful. Idk what you mean by adapter though, you just plug them into your controller and are good to go.

I had the a50s for about a month and a half and couldn't get into them. I had the TB x41s on 360 and loved the lightweight design while still having the big ear cups and great directional audio but the a50s gave me headaches all the time. Maybe it was because they had more bass? (but I love bass I've had subwoofers my whole life) so I think it had more to do with the heaviness. And if I flipped the mic up to mute them for more than a couple minutes it would disconnect me from chat. I'm not opposed to wireless TBs so I'll probably try the 500x's

I voted for the Astro a50 out of those three but i would recommend the Polk 4 shot headphones. I have a pair and they sound great and look great. I wear them when traveling to listen to music and playing my action games like titanfall and battlefield. You also get 2 mics with it when you register the product. I know right now i sound like i work for them but until Astro comes out with a headset made for X1 these are the best deal.

2 RepliesWhy do people still buy Turtlebeach? they use the exact same shitty design with terrible materials. I've owned 3, taken an immense amount of care for them and each one has broken on that slim piece of plastic near the ear cups where the wires travel through. This was also within a 2 year span. It's absolutely ridiculous that they haven't changed the design or tried upgrading them because they overcharge for a piece of junk.

1 ReplyI really wish i knew if astro gaming was planning on making somthing that works better with the xbone. Somthing that doesn't utilize that chatpad which messes with the audio.

6 RepliesUntil.further updated the adapter only uses stereo audio. But through the optical drive on the console you can get surround. But the audio on the tb xo7 is awesome and they will eventually update surround through the controller.
