Destiny VS GTAV Saleswise
What you reckon people? Does Destiny have a Strong Chance of Beating GTAV in Copies Sold?

8 Replieslolno GTA V is one of the most sold games of all time. Destiny is just a Borderlands rip off people are going to get tired of instantly.

It has a good chance of making money, but there's no way a new IP is going to get those type of sells.

1 ReplyLike others have said, GTA died faster than Halo 4. Is sad because GTA 5 is a much better game but many of the fans (including me) lost interest after the first few months. The game isn't boring, but I feel like Rock star has been trying to piss us off since day 1. They recently stopped because their actions have driven away too many players. They still haven't kept some of their promises and I have had enough of them. Bungie doesn't piss off its fans for laughs so I can see Destiny outselling GTA 5 on every console.

The thing is destiny will be 10x more fun than gta online IMO of course. I'm pretty much over GTA online it's still fun to get on here and there and drive around town with friends causing mayhem. The missions got old.

Then consider Destiny is available on all major consoles (excluding wiiu), and the lack of good games out for next gen consoles, and the ridiculous amount of press, hype, and advertising Destiny has received. [/b]I've never seen such hype for a game across all demographics, so that leads to me believe Destiny will outsell. Considering GTA only released on last gen, and is now releasing on next gen, it will get a much higher number of sales than if it released on all consoles at once. So in that case I think GTA will outsell Destiny overall.

People are likely to buy copies for the next gen consoles even if they already have the game for the old gen. Destiny will only have one proper release, so the average destiny player will only buy slightly >1 copy of destiny, as opposed to the larger average number bought by GTA players.

GTAV Sold 34 Million so far before Next Gen Release. The Destiny Beta Alone had 6.4 million players that was only open for 1 week. There would have to be a lot more players who want Destiny who missed the chance to play the Beta. I expect at least 15 to 20 Million Copies sold.

No, GTA has a much larger and broader fanbase than Destiny ever could. I think they've sold upwards of 20 million copies or something so far. Destiny is expecting to sell between 10 and 15 million.
