Where is the Last City actually located on Earth?
What country is it in and is it near any specific old City?
I want to say its where Old Vegas is.

it is probably between russia and norther europe, seeing as we walk to the EDZ in the Begining of D2, if we flew alot father than I thought, then I would say middle east or deep russia

I think it's based either in the middle east or near the southern Russian border, I think middle east cause there's part of the tower called the Bazzar and in that area cayde-6 gives you a ramen coupon

I think it's on the southern tip of the urals in Russia because those are mountains and there is a river that goes through the very southern edge of the Urals, and one subtext from one rare armor piece of Jagi's host says they were last seen marching SOUTH toward the caspian sea and since the Urals are almost directly north of the caspian sea it is most likely in the urals and the ocean hawthorne describes could be the caspian sea or she could have gone through the meditarenean to avoid a possible darkness in eastern europe in like poland or ukraine. Anyways that my 2 cents feel free to contest me I would love to be wrong!

I say it's in North America, like northern United States in the Rocky Mountains or in northern Canada somewhere. I did think it was in the Italian Alps or Swiss Alps but Hawthorne mentions "flying across the ocean" from the EDZ. I've also seen theories that it's in the Andes Mountains but I don't think that's the case since the environment matches more with North American environments

1 ReplyDue to the fact that in the new destiny the edz is located right at the border of Switzerland and that roads that would lead to the d last city I would say it's somewhere in the alps of switzerland. You can also notice the "graubünden" sign wich is located in switzerland, it's a german sign tho, byt it would make alot of sense since switzerland is considered the most safe country on earth

I believe that your belief is wrong. I think that the Last City is actually Istanbul, due to it's closeness to Russia, and also because it both have a riverlike thing going through them. Istanbul is actually on a narrow straight that fits the necessary requirement. Also, economically speaking, Istanbul is perfect when you see all the slums from the Tower.

Based on the mountains, greenery, persistent fog and apparent travel time from old Russia, I would think somewhere in the Northwestern United States (Seattle or Portland, or maybe even Vancouver, British Columbia in Canada). I think Bungie is based out of the Seattle area, so what better design inspiration than your immediate surroundings. Plus, if you were creating an imaginary world where there was only one city left on Earth, most people would probably choose the city they lived in... in this case Seattle.

Destiny's Earth is probably much different than our current Earth... Remember, the traveler changed the environments of other planets... Why could it not have changed the environment of Earth? Based on that idea, technically the last city could be anywhere... If the traveler changed the Earth's environment like it did Mercury and Mars. We assume it is in old Russia... But I don't remember seeing the traveler from Old Russia, or seeing the cosmodrome from the Tower... So technically, there isn't any proof of where it is... Is there? Any one have a link to say where it is?

When you first get your dropship you get that cut scene where you fly away from Old Russia. I don't think it's a real time flight more a montage of different areas you fly over so I don't think it's just outside old Russia. All speculation. Maybe it is a real time flight and the last city is 2 minutes away from Russia as the dropship flies. :)

3 RepliesI would say Russia somewhere as the same wall is seen from the last city as in Old Russia and while it may seem in exciting to have two areas so close to one another Russia is a damn big place so they could be hundreds of miles apart.

When you travel to the tower there is a giant ball of light east of Africa/Saudi Arabia. Which makes me think the Last City is near India/Pakistan area, which is close to Russia.

Do we know how big the last city is or how many people live in it? Or how big the traveler is in terms of miles or kilometers? That could help determine how large a space the last city is taking up... And could then narrow down options.
