WoW vanilla Naxxramas... Really any WoW raid up until the end of Wrath was only possible with coordination, timing, and attentiveness. Not every player raided and not every guild cleared the raid before the next launched. Looking For Raid mortally wounded WoW in my eyes, and it would not do any good in Destiny. If you want to find others for strikes and raids, try joining a clan or gaming community.

  • So you suggest people look for people to raid with instead of people use the game to find people to raid with? Brilliant.

  • And you necro bump my threads? LFR in WoW was a joke. It was a dumbed down version of the genius and difficult raids. It discouraged progression and the feeling of accomplishment that people got to finally clearing the raid. And the saddest part was that running LFR did not teach you the boss fights at all, and people were more reckless with encounters.

  • I thought we were talking about destiny. I think you're taking great liberties when you take something thats purely subjective like a feeling you get and pass your opinion off as fact. The first time i beat the raid was with strangers and i felt great. I had to find them on the forums because i only had one friend that played destiny. I now have a clan composed of new people i met from a lfg site.

  • Sorry but Bungie has nothing on the difficult monster raids that Blizzards kicked out in WoW. LFR messed all that up to cater to casual players.

  • Thats true so far but there's only 1 raid out. There are also only 6 people playing the bungie raids. I think you're on my side of the argument now.

  • I'm not sure what said you are on. I am simply against a raid matchmaking. You want to raid? Make new friends and work it out.

  • Im for lfg in normal raid. You said yourself that this is nowhere as complex or intensive as wow raiding and to be honest i agree in some cases. I think with theseraidsbeing 6 people and not 20 plus its easier to coordinate with strangers.

  • You would never get past the gorgon's lair without cheesing it with complete strangers.

  • How do you cheese the gorgons lair? Like i said on normal the raid is rather easy for anyone thats 29 which can be accomplished without raiding. If you cant explain simple concepts to virgin raiders i might agree but anyone who can read or watch a youtube video can get this raid.

  • That's thing though, with matchmaking you are not guaranteed to be paired with people who are good at gunplay. Let alone if they own/use a mic or even listen to you. If they get upset or in conflict with other members, who's to stop them from leaving and queuing again. Also if you can't complete the raid in 1 sitting, you might need to go in with a completely new group, and with matchmaking, you must start from the beginning, getting no loot from the bosses you already completed.

  • I was talking about a lfg feature in game like every other post in the forums. You cant say that everyone is unsuccessful because if that were the case why is it that most of these forums are populated with people lfg. Even if you raid with just friends there's no guarantee that they wont have to leave early. Ive raided with strangers for hours. Everyone knows the raid takes hours thats a point that has been communicated by bungie and the community. You would have more of a leg to stamd on if people weren't doing exactly what bungie didnt want them to do. The only difference is we'd like an ingame option.

  • No, you don't want an in game option, you want an automatic option. You don't want to have to go through the effort of making friends and finding people to raid with. Don't use a sweeping generalization, not everyone understands what it really means for a raid to take hours. The only thing Bungie did not want players to do was cheese the bosses, and they fixed that for the most part. I stand on my feet, not my leg. I raided for years on WoW. You can't assume that when someone pushes the que button on a LFR that they know what they are getting into. Most of them might, but it is only a 6 man group, 1 weak link and a couple hours can easily become a few then several.

  • Yes i do want an in game option for other people. I think it's grossly negligent for a company to force players to use a 3rd party service to play their game. I think a lobby where players can check each others gear out and talk before they raid would be good. I can see the comparison you're making to wow raids but like i said it doesnt take tjat much coordination to finish this one. 6 men vs 20 plus. From my short time in wow i didnt see anything all that difficult either. Dont stand in the fire... etc

  • Can you not do such in the tower? I get people throwing invites at me every time I go there. But your idea right there^ is a good one. I am only against automatic grouping and matchmaking. If we play with your idea for a sec, How about Bungie make a sub-lobby in the tower that can hold more than 12 people. It can be a basic building room for all that matters. The point of it will get a bunch of people together in one space who want to raid right that that time. Maybe as an added feature, any fireteam leaders will have a symbol appear over their heads with the number of players in their fireteam.

  • Something social like that in the tower would be a welcome addition from my perspective. I think the tower is borderline useless. It's a giant menu as it currently stands. If i could access my vault from my ship it would reduce most of the tedium of this game.

  • The problem with LFR is not how it is, but with people using it... and it does make me wonder if those people would do a real raid anyways. I think some people never intend to do a real raid in WoW at all. They still have the option to get better gear and see the content to a lesser extent with LFR. This is fine, of course, but I can't say if it's worth the issue that arises - are some people accepting LFR raids as the end-all content in the game and thinking they don't need to raid because they've experienced it? LFR raids are nowhere near the experience of raiding with a real group on any other difficulty, but I doubt everyone knows this.
