Idk why people want it as a Primary.
Just being different for the sake of being different I guess.
It make more sense as a Special.
And, as a realest, the Sniper make more sense as a Primary. [Shotty Snipes? Sniper, Hand Cannon?] But, as a gamer, I like it where it is.
I would love if the Hand Cannons were a Special. I would run it a lot more.

I honestly don't understand why people want it in a special slot, if you get headshots with the Handcannon then its a beautiful beast. Besides, if you put it in the special slot everyone will hate it
-
Edited by TnT Recks: 7/30/2014 4:11:37 PMI didn't say I want it there. I don't care were it goes. But I'm sorry, I'm not giving up a Scout, Auto, or Pulse rifle to use a Hand cannon. The three are so obviously superior to it. Also it makes no sense to me why a sniper is a Special weapon. It should def stayed a Heavy weapon, or should have become a Primary instead. [But as a gamer I love that I can spawn with my Scout Rifle and my Sniper; Though..] It makes no sense why Bungie would do this. Sniper used to be a Heavy weapon. Hand Cannon used to be a Special Weapon. That was Bungie's original thought process. That makes sense to me. Where these weapons are now, make little sense to me. This is not personal preference. I'm just talking about what makes sense. It not a huge issue though, there is harmony amongst all the tiers for the most part. If they don't change it, I just wont be using the Hand Cannon very often.
-
The way I see it, if you don't like it, don't use it. It's really that simple. You don't see me crying out, "autorifles need to be moved to secondary" just because I don't like them.
-
Obviously I'm crying about what I like and don't like. Obviously.
-
Crying out and crying about are two completely different things
-
Crying wasn't the point. I said multiple times I'm not basing this on personal preference. I'm saying what would make sense.
-
What "makes sense" is your opinion. Which makes it personal preference

Edited by TnT Recks: 7/30/2014 4:49:26 PMSo what makes Hand Cannons different from pistols in any other shooter, where they are classified as Secondary's? What makes the Hand Cannon any different? Other than the fact that their reload time is "glacially slow". And at max (as far as I know) 6 bullets. Your primary weapon shouldn't handicap you. Even in action movies, the Hero starts of with their Rifle then when they run out of bullets they pull out their pistol in attempt to finish the job. It's so bizarre that Bungie would ever consider putting a "pistol" as a Primary. Was the Magnum or Plasma Pistol a Primary!? (Well they were in combat evolved, but there was no BR then. And we obviously have Rifle's that are superior to the Hand Cannons)
-
Dude these are personal problems you suck with it so you don't see its potential I have killed with my handcannon since the start of the game and it has what it takes to conpete with your easy mode guns.
-
Edited by TnT Recks: 8/1/2014 6:45:02 PMLol I dont suck with any weapon.. I could dominate with the Hand Cannon I chose to. So thats not the issue lol. Ok.. It's my opinion, sure. But also, you cannot deny that it would make more sense as a Special Weapon. Until I get a solid reason why it should be in a tier where it is so outclassed, I will continue to think the way I do. Right now, it is in that tier for reasons completely unknown to me. I mean maybe you wanna handicap your self to make the game challenging? But why would Bungie do this... like I said before, it was originally in the Special tier and I wish Bungie would tell us why they changed it. Some of you are so blind to that fact, so blinded by the "cool" factor of the Hand Cannon. Would it really be any less cool if it was put into a tier where it could be used more effectively? I don't get you people. I'm just and only saying why it would make sense. I'm not saying I hate the Hand Cannon, I def didn't say or imply I suck with it. I'm just saying it would make more sense if Bungie had left it in the Special Weapon tier, where (I think, and Bungie had originally thought) it belongs.

Edited by Ronin Jaguar: 8/1/2014 6:51:21 PMThe special weapons are for completely different purposes not to serve as a crutch for you bad aim mid rang the hand cannon and rifles all compete equally. The only reason I could see some one wanting it in their secondary is because they miss a lot with their rifle at mid range and when the enemy is about to get away or kill them they pull the hand cannon out for a head shot. In the end it just compensates for their lack of aim and that is not what the specials are for.
-
I get what your saying. But I think that that's the what the Hand Cannons role should be. Using the Hand Cannon requires precision. It would mesh well with the other weapons in the Special tier. Also, don't agree with your statement, in that it is on the same level as the other Primary's. The Hand Cannon is a good Primary weapon. The Hand Cannon would be a great Special Weapon. They same can be said about the Sniper, the Shotgun and the Fusion Rifle.
-
Edited by Ronin Jaguar: 8/1/2014 7:43:07 PMNo I think you are just really confused about how all the weapons work none of the specials would go well as a primary you just want to try to mix the weapons up to your personal advantage when that is not how it is we all dont have your play style so I say we should play with the cards we are dealt. Also the handcannon is a primary its purpose is not to be a crutch for people who can't aim with rifles properly. I have used the handcannon and am not even that skilled and was able to keep positive it is a good gun.
-
Edited by TnT Recks: 8/1/2014 8:22:54 PMI would be able to do the same. I'm not trying to manipulate weapon tiers to suit my play style, as if any of us really could. All I'm saying is that it makes more sense as a Special! IT EVEN USED TO BE A SPECIAL WEAPON. How can you not see my point? Ugh.. It doesn't even matter. I don't care where it is. Mainly because 9/10 times if someone is trying to kill me with a HC and I have a Auto, Scout, or Pulse rifle. I'm going to win. That's not even including how Godlike I am, thats just a general statement. Bungie's not likely to change it back. If I ever feel like handicapping myself, if I ever wanna try something new, cause I'm bored, I'll throw on the HC. Otherwise, because of my competitiveness, because of my play style, I wont be using it much if it remains a Primary. [Only because it is no where near as effective as of the other Primary's in PvP - That is the only reason.]

Oh.. Lol thats what i had thought at first but wasnt sure. And no doubt, sound good :)

What makes the Handcannon a primary is the round size. Revolvers by design can handle a bigger round than a normal handgun. Bigger round = easier to kill with. If we were talking about normal handguns, I would say either make it a deagle, or remove them. Because in destiny, secondarys have a bigger bang than primarys. They just have less ammo.
-
Edited by TnT Recks: 7/30/2014 5:12:06 PMAll of Destiny's Special weapons are situational. Sniper, long range. Shotguns, Fusion Rifles, close range. Hand Cannons, finish the job. Well that's what its role would be if it was a Special. How many times have you switched to your Secondary cause you ran out of ammo with your Primary in a gun fight. If they are too far, shotguns aren't doin it. Fusion Rifles have to charge. And you have to be a skilled (or lucky) sniper to finish the job with it. Hand Cannons were originally Special Weapons, idk why they changed it. Idk how much more I have to say it. It simply makes more sense as a Secondary. And you would get more use out of it.
-
Never, I've used my primary because my sniper that does 1500 ran out of ammo, not the other way around. If you drop enough mobs in boss fights, you get primary ammo very quickly. The closest I've gotten to running out of ammo was septis prime when I had 5 shots left, and no other ammo.
