Yeah...or this.
Redo the emotes like the commo rose in bf4, bind that to one d pad button. Use r stick to select while holding down the one d pad button.
Now you have three unused buttons. Flashlight, Minimap, mute/unmute proximity chat.
Bam.
Ready to work at Bungie now.

Even though this idea is amazing in every way. I feel like you're voice isn't loud enough here. Ask in the mail sack and see if deej listens. It definitely won't make it in this game but there's always destiny 2

Great idea. Perhaps be able to obtain new emotes and such, be able to chop and change the slots with collected emotes, consumable items and tools such as flashlight and proximity chat etc.

Why yes, there isn't. Yet. Along with armbands and beta extensions, prox chat is high on the wanted list. Halo 2 had it, even in pvp. So bungie knows how, they just need to hear the community ask loud enough and spend time to develop it (or it was already thought of and was turned off) and impliment it in the game. All I'm offering are do-able suggestions. It's not too far fetched to see any of my suggestions in the future. In fact, aside from the comm rose, im pretty sure bungie has implimented each of the ideas in part or in whole in previous games.
