I have an X1 and the only bones to pick for me are
No background/Theme customisation (but MS have said they are working on it)
No voice messages from 360 work
Kinect reliability can be shocking if it is not properly calibrated
No backwards compatibility
But it gets vastly better every update, just this month GWG has arrived, external hard drive support and a redesigned store. And FINALLY it is becoming an entertainment hub, plus all dem games, the PS4 may have the current advantage but the X1 improves vastly every month, it's futureproof. And Smartglass is great too, alongside the uber-useful HDMI in (?) port it has, i use it to play my 360 through the TV app, so BC is already a feature for me really and the Kinect IR blaster
But respect to PS for getting it right this time, i loved my PS1 & PS2 so a bit of healthy competition is great

Guaranteed updates and improvements to the service, think of PC, if Windows or Mac OS never updated do you think there'd be PCs?
-
Updates don't necessarily mean future proofing something. It comes off as if you think updates are a totally new concept for consoles.
-
No, what i meant was that updates enable improvement and a higher quality, guaranteed updates certainly count towards a product's future, and monthly updates are pretty rare among tech products unfortunately (at least at the level of change each X1 update brings)

Because the X1 was released early... They didn't want to release it but had to because they couldn't afford the PS4 to have months of sales with no competition.
