Doesn't playing offline defeat the purpose of a connected world where you can hack or be hacked at any moment? That's like playing dark souls offline, it takes away from the experience.

Not really, I hate playing with people unless I'm just killing them in a straight up fight. Invasion modes piss me off because it's basically licensed/condoned griefing.

I played Dark Souls offline. I hated the mp. It was just who can backstab the most. I just wanted to dive into the lore without interruption. I can see why someone would want to play offline in this game too.
