◊ Some of you will remember the red flaming helmets from Halo 3, and the red and blue ones from Halo Reach. The flames really defined those who who had the from those who did not. I think it would be cool to see something similar in Destiny where a certain "effect" was applied to certain members of the B-Net community. This effect could not simply be earned by belonging to B-Net, as all those who signed up for the beta would have it. But instead it would be earned, either by years of membership on B-Net, or by some other milestone. ◊ This "effect" could also come in multiple tiers, based on the progress made towards these on site milestones. ◊ Do you think this is a good idea, and what should the effect be? ◊Some recommendations have been: Special Clothes, Armor, and Player nameplates. ◊On a separate note I was thinking that it would be cool If these items, and other in game items would be customizable with an emblem from one of the groups we belong to on B-Net. This could be improved upon by letting certain bigger groups create their own logo to represent themselves on B-Net, however these emblems could be passed by the ninjas to make sure they were appropriate and of high quality. ¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬
The years on site idea is just a place-holder.

If anybody is interesting in joining a group which is solely focused on messing around, join the Retreating Invisible Cows
Distinguished Bungie.net members should be given recognition above others who haven't supported Bungie as much, but that would be unfair in some aspects. Since Destiny is Bungie's new game, users on Bnet who join in for the betas and the first month of the first game should be rewarded with some sort of recognition later on. Just like the titles for Bungie.old (i.e. Exalted Mythic Member), the longer you invest in Bungie, the more recognition you deserve. In-game rewards and recognition should also be available. There will be players in Destiny who don't go on the Bungie forums, so those who do should be able to distinguish amongst the user base of the game. Maybe a symbol or badge on the profile that updates with tenure?

      • So basically, you want a cookie for being an xbox player. Cool. If they do an effect then I think it should be for people that have posted on B-net, pre-destiny beta start. Not time based. Why? Because I never took COD or Boaderlands serious enough to warrant pre-ordering, or researching before they were released. Destiny on the other hand, warranted my attention. Sense then I have been very active, looking for and devouring every detail I can about Destiny. I am sure there is a large number of people on here that feel the same.

        • I agree there should be something to distinguish ourselves, but by no means should it be based upon years of membership. In my opinion, that's unjust. Instead, it should be attained through some sort of secret mission in which we have to stumble upon in-game, or a difficult Raid of some sort. Either that, or Deej should hold a contest where only 3 b.net members win an exclusive one of a kind vanity item. For older b.net members, they can simply just have a "tag" in-game displaying their seniority.

            • It should be based off of years. Period. Why should some brand new players get a bungie trademark like the flaming helmet when they weren't even there to experience it back in the day. Only veterans in the years of halo reach and before should be able to hold this reward. Not to dis on playstation players, you guys just weren't there to experience it. You guys already get exclusives just for being new (which is perfectly ok with me) it just feels like tradition to award veterans something a little special. But this is just my opinion...

                    • I believe it would be cool to reward frequent b.net users with in-game rewards! Maybe they could give us nameplates again or maybe some stupidly rare armour that is easily distinguishable when put up against 100 other players (*cough* Recon *cough*)
I'd also like to point out that Reach All-stars pretty much had their well earned titles ripped off them when Bungie moved. I recall Bungie saying they would treat those who won it the halloween they moved from Halo, however we were awarded nothing. Perhaps now is that time? *wink*
I can imagine Forum ninjas shall be rewarding significantly too!

I think they should do what they did with Reach. You'd only get the flaming helmet if you were an actual employee or you purchased a limited/legendary edition version of the game. Or have another flame for how many years you've served Bungie maybe. Although my first account is 7 years old but I lost it :(
yes I also realize we later got the blue on if you had the old bungie app on bungie day.
• I don't know, man. Doing it by account years it would also award people who made a bnet account but have never posted in the forum nor played a Halo game, and it wouldn't award those that have played every game and post often but have only created an account recently or lost their old one. So while it is a justified thing to base rewards on it will result in some injustice too.

I would say yes, but not based on a b.net account's age. Maybe the amount of Achievements in Bungie's Halos, and then a b.net account to recieve them. Nice counter if the PlayStation exclusive thing's true.

                                    • I think that it makes sense and would show that they still actually care for this community. A lot of halo updates came from the community and I'm hoping the bungie uses us again.

I didn't think about it and I would love to see what the community would like as a gift from Bungie ♥ I personally would love something like halo reach, was awesome. (Even though it would make more sense only having Bungie with Flames)

It was mentioned that members that have shown their loyalty through the years will be recognized in game. I don't know if they mean years a member, or games associated with your profile, like they did with Reach. Regardless though, each member that has a linked account might get a little something in game. Bungie has been known to do this since Halo 2. Generally it has been a nameplate, but there has also been exclusive armor in the past.
