Make a Dark Souls Boss

No point in hiding this, but I am straight up stealing this post from G2A on facebook. Anyway, come up with what you think is a good Dark Souls Boss! Here is mine. Where to start...Dark Souls 2 had a lack of a staged boss, like ornstein and smough. So here is my suggestion. Mimic King: You open the fog door, and all there is in the room is a chest. It will obviously be a mimic, so when you defeat it (or get chomped and come back and defeat it), the room (which will be a medium sized room) will expand and the mimic will come back to life but a little bigger and a boss bar. It will be a standard mimic fight, just harder, using normal mimic moveset from Dark Souls 2 with one extra ability that activates at about 1/3 life remaining. He will do a fake stun when you hit him, and after a second or two, if you hit him again with a melee, will catch the weapon and do some durability damage, while also tossing the player for damage (it should hurt most, but not one shot the weakest). Once he is defeated, he should then become a perfect mirror or "mimic" of the player, no matter what class they are using. Obviously the stats will be buffed for the mimic, but the fight will play like a mirror match. No special moves or anything, but it will be a pretty decent challenge. If you are using a weapon with a special ability, then the mimic can use it, and if you are using sorceries, the mimic can use those as well. Finally, once all is said and done, you will get ~30k souls and the Soul of the Mimic King, along with the mimic helm from DS1. You can use the Soul of the Mimic King to get 10K souls or trade for a spell that gives your shield a corrosive effect against weapons that hit it. Beware, the spell slowly erodes your shield as well. Well, that's my idea. Hope you guys like it!

      • I have two: Black Fog - you have to climb a tower to dodge its attacks. Its attacks? Itself. It is a corrosive fog that cannot be harmed other than a living orb at the top of the tower. The Small Knight - a small armoured creature that moves quickly and strikes hard. Think Yoda + armour.

      • Most people will think of giant monsters & such. I would make a boss that was just an average sized knight one that you could compare yourself to. But of course he would have a crazy fighting style that kept you on your toes testing your reflexes & skills. Similar to lord gwyn. Which was just a one on one fight with an almost average sized man which for some reason was awesome. I would make sure the arena was completely barren with nothing to hide behind or to run to so youd have to face him no matter what. Also the arena would be anti magic so you couldnt cheap your way through the battle. I wouldnt give him any OP magic spamming abilities or anything like that as well but i would definitely make him an aggressive boss that would punish you for any slip ups also with the ability to do back stabs & parry. It would almost feel like youre actually fighting a real person through PvP. & those matches are always intense if the player is good enough. I think itd be a great fight because itd truly put your close combat skills to the test & the rage would be great.

        • Pleb King: He buys a pre-built PC which is overpriced instead of building a custom PC, which would be a better machine for the same price he paid for his lolpre-built.
:)
Brutus. A huge horned man covered in thick fur and bulging muscles with the head of a bear. Extremely fast and strong, and hits very hard. A demon created when a simple but large man was rejected by his peers because of his abnormal size dumb nature cast himself to the flame and was reborn with a hatred for all. Would appear in new game: A great warrior cast him into a dark dungeon deep beneath the Tower eons ago to protect the world. Now Brutus is corrupted by dark, and his power even more immense. He would attack with his fists, head, and stomp on any downed opponent if within range. Only the best tank build could handle him, or light builds controlled by good timing. No one shot, but his attacks are very fast and brutal and it's best to stay away from him. Very high level boss. You have to bring his health down three times per encounter as his rage is so violent he refuses to go down. Moves slower but hits harder, and has less health. A horn would fall off each time he falls, and the last time he would fall, but his head would lie in lava and his face would melt off. His second appearance his head is bone but dark oozes out. Third encounter is in Majula in 7th play through. Only if defeated when consumed by darkness. Comes back even more skeleton like and darkness oozes out in all wounds and his flesh is rotting. Can now one shot kill with a crushing hammer fist or bite that poisons. He crawls out of the huge hole. Awrads 50k souls, plus another 10k upon each defeat. Lore would explain his werabouts. First defeat provides horned helm. Second provides an armor of bone and matted fur. Third provides a bone fist hammer, upon using his soul. After this he will be encountered once per playthrough in orginal spot, a mere skeleton with no extra perks. Lacks his speed but can still one hit kill. He will drop a scapula and provide a shield. All of his loot is very heavy, and you will fat roll no matter what. Very high damage res.

A really weak looking enemy, just like a Ditto or something. You kill it with one blow and that's it. The Psychological torture of expecting some kind of catch, retribution or trick for doing so is better than any tough guy boss.

          • NORMAL HOLLOW. WHEN YOU DEFEAT HIM HE TURNS INTO A SLIGHTY STRONGER ENEMY TYPE. THIS KEEPS GOING UNTIL HE TURNS INTO THE WEAKEST BOSS, AND HE STARTS MOVING UP THE CHAIN OF BOSSES UNTIL HE IS THE GIANT KILL-YOU-IN-ONE-HIT-NO-MATTER-WHAT DRAGON.

          • A neon pink skeleton that does nearly no damage. But explodes violently 2 seconds after death, just to -blam!- with you. I'd put it where the old dragonslayer is.. -blam!- that guy.

          • I would totally love to see something similar to dark Link from the water temple in LOZ. It would be a solo boss which means you can't summon. You start off in a large empty room with clear mirrors on the walls, ceiling, and floor. When you go to the other side of the room and turn around he'll be in the center with your exact armor and weapon setup and copy your moves.

              • I kind of came in with a similar idea. Except, it would be the final boss. Basically how I see it is the boss would start off as an exact mirror to you. Same armor, same level and skills, same weapons, same rings, etc. He wouldn't be too terribly aggressive during this initial stage. However, the kicker would come at around 3/4 to half health. Up until this point, the game will have been tracking your playstyle and analyzing its weaknesses. The boss will then gain to ability to change his armor, weapons, and rings, and reallocate the points to other skills on the fly so as to best exploit those weaknesses. He will have access to every item in the game, meaning he can truly exploit your weaknesses as greatly as possible. As the fight continues to progress, he will gain the ability to have a "higher level" than you, meaning his skills will only increase. His weapons and armor will become imbued and leveled up more so than your weapons are. He will become, for all intents and purposes, your greatest enemy, and your ultimate challenge. You must learn to adapt and change your strategies just as quickly as he does, or you will fail. Killing him will earn you 50K souls, The Soul of the Domineer, and the ability to ascend a weapon of your choosing past +10 to a rare, special weapon at your friendly neighborhood blacksmith. Trading the soul can earn you a Hex that temporarily copies every characteristic of an enemy you're facing in PvP, but also increases every skill of theirs by +10. That, or a sword that inflicts damage of the effect that the enemy you're facing has the least defense to. You can also pop the soul for another 50K souls.

                • Maybe some sort of shape shifting enemy. It would start off as one creature, but when its health got low enough, it would shift into something completely different with a unique attack pattern. It would do this maybe three or four times before finally dying. The final form before death would be its "true" form. An enemy like this would turn that whole "pattern" strategy on its head and cause a lot of rage.
