I never fell into the undead purgatory with the chariot guy. I guess if you kill all the dragons on the way to the long bridge nothing happens. I was fully expecting to fall to my death though lol. Maybe I will purposefully not kill everything next time haha. I'm sure I missed some things. Also, Queen Mytha was in love with her husband, but he apparently started to lose interest in her. She somehow began to use poison to try to improve her looks and try and win him back. But it didn't end well and she eventually became that thing. That's what you hear when you talk to the laddersmith before the boss fight. Also, I wore the ring that lets you hear the inner thoughts of your enemies before walking up to the knight at the bastille, and I believe you're right. You can here him kind of just growling and muttering something unintelligible. I assume he's trying to fight the last stages of hollowing but it's not working out for him. It could very well also be three separate knights who all face the same fate. Perhaps they were placed there as guards and the only thing keeping them from going completely hollow is their duty to the king.

Alright, that makes sense for mytha. I figured that i would learn more about her later in the game too. I wonder how she is related to the coveteous demon though? Also, I'm almost completely certain that all the encounters are the same gray knight. I remember a demo of the forest of fallen giants where From hinted that the same knight would show up again. Furthermore, I found him in the shaded woods earlier and he had the same arrows sticking out of his eye.

  • Maybe it was a pet of sorts. Although, a more subtle explanation could be available. It is called the "covetous demon". Perhaps it coveted the queen and wanted her for itself. That could explain the description you mentioned earlier. Maybe it showed her a way to improve her beauty using the poison and made her dependent on it.

  • That's what I'm thinking. It's possible too that his providing poison for Mytha resulted in his hinted at transformation. What about the queen's beheading? Do you learn anything about that later in the game?

  • I didn't. But I may have missed someone or some conversation I should've had. You only find out that stuff if you talk to the ladder guy before you kill her though. Maybe someone else tells you more.
