Artists. Help meh. Pls. (Really, though, I need you)

What drawing tablets do you guys use? Please explain what you like about it and what - if anything - I should be wary of when looking at buying these things. What programs do you usually use with them? What type of art do you do? Link me to your work if you feel so inclined. Talk to me like an artistic child. I am a baby nooblet. Teach me your ways.

  • Get a wacom bamboo tablet for starters. You don't need anything too expensive right now.

  • I have a wacom bamboo tablet. I can't draw for shit, but I use it when I need to edit some of my photos as it's really difficult using a mouse and keyboard, IMO. Biggest plus side is that the tablet was incredibly cheap! (Paid $100 or so, by memory). Perfect for beginners as you don't need to make a huge investment and works pretty damn good. And as for software, I use Adobe CS5.1. I got a sweet deal on it from my university a while back (it's always worth looking into any student deals your college/uni/school/whatever can get for you)
