Which gaming communities have a lot of Elitism?

Definition of elitism:
Elitism is the belief or attitude that some individuals, who form an elite—a select group of people with a certain ancestry, intrinsic quality or worth, higher intellect, wealth, specialized training or experience, or other distinctive attributes—are those whose influence or authority is greater than that of others; whose views on a matter are to be taken the most seriously or carry the most weight; whose views or actions are most likely to be constructive to society as a whole; or whose extraordinary skills, abilities, or wisdom render them especially fit to govern.
Starting to feel that for me, I've found more elitism in the PC environment from players of Final Fantasy XIV than CoD or anything else so far. I don't need to take up anyone's time with a rant so just stick with what you would like to say in regards to the topic yourself. Found this funny image of one of the large group dungeons, it's been made into a Bingo board for when things don't go well during it.

The obvious ones I come across the most often is Halo elitists and Halo classists. There are even a few out there I would peg as Halo "hipsters". Then again, I also spend a lot of time on Bungie related forums. Fundamentally, there is nothing wrong with liking a particular franchise or a particular game within that franchise, but there are some within the Halo community that take it too far. They don't realize how their obsession with something so SPECIFIC and so many years removed from today is polarizing. It doesn't bring people in, it forces people out. Gives other Halo fans a bad name. I guarantee you that if H2A gets released you'll end up having a niche group of gamers who will go in and never come out, like the Bermuda Triangle. Maybe that's MS's plan. H2A a trap. Metaphoric flypaper for old-school Halo gamers.
