What terrible poll options, none of them are what I would want to vote for :(
And this might be a bit off-topic from the thread, but I thought Microsoft was saying that they were going to stop releasing major new operating systems and just make occasional incremental upgrades to Windows 8?

so after years of making fun of firefox, they're going to switch to their business model?

I never knew they made fun of Firefox... I like Firefox :( And I heard about this around the time they made Windows 8.1, but I'm not completely sure how official of a commitment it was, that's why I was asking.

yep. firefox stopped full new build releases around(IIRC) FF v12.0, and started releasing new updates around every 6 weeks(unless a major security/stability update was required after a new launch, in which case it'd quickly get a Version x.01 update release). the IE team sent their office a blue cupcake with a sarcastic congrats note every time they released one.

Edited by Bistromathics: 1/31/2014 3:59:57 AMAre you sure it was sarcastic? IIRC, it was a genuine gesture of goodwill. I can't imagine the actual software engineers being like that, especially in a company like Microsoft that doesn't really emphasize having a lifestyle/culture to the group (unlike Apple or maybe Google). They seem very corporate.

ur mom is a terrible pole option The only changes I've heard about to the update process is that Microsoft has streamlined it. All of their services and software update on a coordinated schedule, and I think the OS updates are more streamlined. While it's possible that the plan was to just stick with Windows 8, Microsoft may try to avoid the stigma of the name by starting fresh.

My ideal poll option would be "I already use Windows 8 (with "Classic Shell") but this does sound pretty cool" That is a good point about Windows 8 having a kinda bad reputation among certain users

I just have a habit of making shitty poll options, lol.

*Pats your head* Oh, well it's okay!
