Why do people need a search button? You just start typing on the god damn start screen.........

You're in for a bad time if you try explaining that to the average PC user like it's super obvious. I use the function (in the same way) all the time, but whereas the Start Menu actually had a text box that showed that you could type to search, the feature is invisible on the Start Screen. The only way to find the search function is to go to the Charms bar and click it. It's either that or accidental keystrokes on the Start Screen.

Or simply include "start typing from anywhere" during that brief intro when you set up Windows 8/8.1.

They might actually have that already. While I might just have shitty memory, I honestly wouldn't expect a lot of people to remember that unless they use it all the time.
