Normally, the link in the notification will show you the post. However, if the OP of the thread you got dinged for is banned, and it isn't you, then you can't see the post (because the thread is removed).
It has been bugged.

Actually this wasn't a real issue, just a mistake on my part not noticing the second hyperlink. I appreciate the help though. I now see what I my actual offense was.
