I do see your concerns and considering we have not seen any in depth firefights they are valid. I feel like the additions of skills like the hunter's golden gun and the warlock's nova bomb could attribute to these faster kill resolutions they are speaking of.

These supers you mentioned concern me as well. They are practically always one-hit kills. I fear that someone can simply run up to me, throw a nova bomb at me, and kill me.

This sort of off-topic, but does anyone know what the bubble shield-esque thing is at 3:22ish of Out Here in the Wild? It looks like a Titan's using it, but I've nothing on what it is. Anybody know anything?
-
Not a clue. It would've been nice if the attacker had actually aimed at the Guardian in the bubble. Then maybe we could see if it is actually a shield of some sort.

Not just Exotic gear or Supers. See a snippet from an interview below:
GameInformer: Would you say multiplayer matches are faster than Halo games... or how would you compare the speed? Lars Bakken: Definitely faster. If we're to talk about lethality; it's certainly more lethal than Halo. When you catch a guy with his pants down, you can take him out really quickly. And that's not even including using a heavy weapon or a Super to do that, but generally your primary assault class weapons are going to do a little more damage than what we had in Halo. GI: What's the reason for that? LB: Combat resolution is fun, right? Getting into combat and having it end is fun. It's satisfying for both sides. And it's not all the time, you know. Good players are still going be able to get away some of the time, but it's a little harder now.
Ahh thank you for bringing that to my attention, I have yet to get around to reading the GI article In that case I really hope bungie finds that happy middle ground where if I am in a position where my virtual pants are down I deserve to get what's coming but if i am in a one on one situation, tactics still play a key role.

That excerpt was from a video interview with Lars Bakken, who loves to talk about catching guys with their pants down.

Lol thanks for the clarification buddy

I heard somewhere (can't remember exactly where… I think it was an interview of some kind) that there's a chance that some weapons will be nerf'd (nerfed?) when going to competitive and back again. While I normally am wildly against this, it seems like there could be specific foci for multiplayer only, where powers were somehow less powerful than they looked at E3. Did that make any sense?

I think your right I remember seeing that as well. I believe it's to balance out a scenario where if you have red death maxed out and I have a regular pulse rifle in PvP I can stand a chance.. And feel great knowing I stared death in the face and came out victorious. Which I think is a great way of handling the potential gaps in strength of our items while maintaining the need for skill.
