I remember loading up the start screen, Hearing that beautiful music, And playing through all 15 levels of the campaign in one go, And playing my first matchmaking match!
What do you remember from the Halo 2 days?
2004 - 2010
-
Epic dual-wielding, annoying reload icons, Ivory Tower, Headlong, Scarab Gun, dat magnetism, crazy Brute Shot, Super Ghost, Spectre, texture pop-in, graphical glitches, Arbiter story, unmelee-able Flood, headless Drones, rampage Brutes, one-shot sniper Jackals, and those friggin' gondolas.

My best memory of the game is that I never got past the first level. I used to be scared of going to places by myself in games, and especially that you have to go to armory and there is a invisible elite. Oh, I completed the game with the co-op buddy that was 3 years older than me 2 years later. Co-op with him, not much I can remember but we had a blast. I remember finding the "golden gun" (Fuel Rod Cannon) it had full ammo, but obviously he was older than me, so I had to give it to him, he said he saw it first.

I used to play Halo 2 alot. I only got the 360 since Halo 2's population died out. I played on both xlink kai and matchmaking I remember in 2010 when I tried to log in with my new account and it failed, checked online, found out :(. I wish I could get the old account back, it was my dads and he stopped using it so I used it but now I ended up forgetting the details and even the username. My dad doesn't remember it either.

LAN matches all night. Best. Experience. Ever.

So much fun. Halo 2 was my first experience with online gaming, Bungie.net being my first real experience with an online community. My dad and I used to play this together; hell, he had a gamertag before I did, and if his work didn't have a clan and if they didn't invite him to it, I likely wouldn't be here today. So much rage too. The Campaign cliffhanger made both my dad and I upset. All the standbying, modding, boosting, glitches, superjumping..it made ranks not matter. Which was fine by me. I didn't need ranks, medals or achievements to have fun gaming. And if we're talking about specific moments, a friend and I once won a Big Team Battle match 2 v 8. All of our teammates quit right at the beginning, but we held our own and won by a landslide. Playing smart was VERY effective.
