I'm more interested in where the Awoken and Exo came from. I'd like to know a little about them before I think about choosing a race.

I'm getting the impression that during the struggle souls had been stripped though fought for and recovered, vex being vessels to harness the soul when the body had been destroyed. Awoken however, had their souls returned to a vessel forged by the travellers magic in the image of the former host. Although the witch-hunt-like concept of a soul being a seperate entity to the energy and elements that compose life is inaccurate and misleading. It would make more sense if particular minerals or elements were being harvested for the expansion and growth of the enemy species.

I firmly believe that the Darkness did harvest their enemies souls. Humans that were still fighting the Darkness during the great war of the Golden Age restored what souls they could into two forms.. a magical one.. and a mechanical one. The human souls belonging to the Awoken, and the human souls places into a 'soul-drive' that act as an Exo's brain. All theory.

I'd like that to be true about the Exo, but the Awoken I think would be cooler If they where a separate race, a real alien spices.

well, self ware machines. i would think robots. like how we are self aware. they are as well. made in the golden age. the awoken im pretty sure are transformed humans. i wonder if humanity will have friends with other alien races. which could introduce new races to play as. :P im a troll. but when it comes video game lore, i go through what i know and sources like game informer. [spoiler]i dont want to be a troll anymore, trying to change. after going into the off topics. O__O i never seen such monsters. [/spoiler]
