Looking for a Lightweight OS?

I need to install something on a small netbook that's a few years old that I'll be selling to someone. It originally came with XP, but with support dropping very soon, I'd rather not install that for security reasons. The OS has to accommodate an XP-era Atom processor with I believe 1GB of RAM. I had Puppy Linux installed on it once and that worked pretty well. JoliOS was alright. I've tried installing Chromium OS, but it seems support for Aspire Ones' is limited. Any help? I need a lightweight, user-friendly OS for a total computer noob.

  • Windows 95/98 They only use around 30 MB of RAM, if you can get a hold of a disk or a floppy disk. Or you can make a bootable USB The link I put is to help you, but you need to make a MS-DOS Virtual machine, which takes knowledge to make (And use MS-DOS, try doing some research first) Hope this helps
