So I'm curious to everyone's opinions on the Destiny box art.
Personally I'm not big on it at all, it more or less just looks like the box art for yet another shooter. It doesn't stand out like it should. Bungie is trying to do something grounded both in FPS tradition and new, risky ideas that will undoubtedly pay off. This cover art doesn't say that to me at all though, it just says, "hey look at me, I'm another shooter."
Now the Warlock to the left might catch my eye a little bit, but that's about it. About as eye-drawing as Bulletstorm's magic whip, for example.
Overall it won't matter much to me, I've got it preordered, I know Bungie, and of course it's just gonna stay in my disc drive constantly so I probably won't even have to look at the box much sooo ... xD
That said, I will give credit to the artist: It's good art. Interesting art style for sure, much better than an enhanced picture from the game or some such, y'know?
So, what do you all think?

Guy on the front looks like master chief with his head backwards wtf
-
This loos like halo
-
The Hunter up front kinda reminds me of the new 'Cloaked' Master Chief from Halo 5. While I won't say that I dislike the current box-art, I feel that just having the Traveler there would uphold the Mystery behind the game, as well as continuing to draw people in with the promise of what lies beneath the massive sphere As seen here.

Meh. I thought the traveler would look nice on the cover.
-
I wish they would have stuck to the traveler.
-
I have a poster of this same image, I personally love this as cover art.
-
I like it except for the fact that every time I look at the hunter I think his helmet is on backward.
-
Game Informer cover is miles better

Edited by Apotheosis: 12/5/2013 1:26:41 AMSo much better.
-
I personally like it.
-
If the name Destiny wasnt on the box i would think it was another Halo game
-
Replace it with the cover image from Game Informer.
-
I preferred when it was just the traveler
-
It's awful and the guy in the center looks like he has his head on backwards. The cover isn't meant for us though. It's made for the casuals ( the vast majority of gamers these days) who buy games solely based on their covers without doing any research beforehand.
-
I have to admit, I liked the one with the Traveler better. Not that this one is bad, but... well, it's a lot more generic.
-
I think it can be improved; I don't particularly see what's so fascinating about looking at the butts of the three Guardians.
-
I love bungie but I ain't no fanboy. This art sucks
-
I think the gameinformer January cover art should be the box art.
-
Thar blue border is shit.
-
Meh, personally I was hoping for the minimal traveler image from this shirt. If the focus of the game is to create your own protagonist and become legend, then three generic placeholders on the cover are not exactly serving that goal. Oh well, can't judge a book by its cover...
-
I kinda like it!
-
It tells us all we need to know to buy. The case will be in a drawer and won't see it for months and months after I put that disk in.
-
Gave me cancer.
-
It's a little too busy for my tastes. I like it, but I'd prefer it to be a little bit more ominous.
-
Meh as hell. Game informer cover is infinitely better.
