This isn't going so well, 5 broken even before launch, this aint so good.
Could we have another RROD like issue on our hands? If so that's alot of money lost for Sony, money they can't afford to spend.
Changed to 10 on word of butane
Edit upon release: alot more are having issues with the controller, and EVEN MORE are having issues with the disc tray ahd the -blam!-ing sound of the disc reader. Oh and the amount of bricked PS4s HAS released.

1 ReplyXBOX supporters "LOL'ing" over a .04 percent failure rate....It's almost as idiotic as poor people supporting rich politicians that keep them from getting affordable healthcare.

Started a new topic: Don't use the HDMI cable that comes with PS4(4 Replies))

1 ReplyThis is straight karma for sony bashing xbox. Im interested to see what happens to Xbox one.
-
1 ReplyThe failure rate from what I have heard is 1%. That is actually quite good.

Wow. You mean to tell me that out of the millions of PS4 consoles Sony have produced and shipped, that some of them have issues am don't work?! THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE EVERY CONSOLE SHOULD BE PERFECT THEY ARE NOT ALLOWED TO MAKE A MISTAKE. It will be the same when the XB1 comes out, some will have issues. Now stop being a fanboy and grow up.
-
I feel like you guys are blowing this out of proportion... In comparison to the failure of 360's at launch and some PS3's this is nothing. Back in 2006 it was like 1 out of every 3 consoles was either a useless brick or had RROD. As for PS3 I didn't experience anything since I had no problem with it.
-
And as icing on the shit-cake??? PSN is down. LMFAO
-
Based on what I've read, the percentage of failed PS4s is extremely small and if 10 broken PS4s and PSN being down for a little bit is all Sony has to worry about, that's pretty good. This is the launch of the first version of a new piece of hardware. Problems are to be expected. I'm positive Microsoft is expecting problems for their console upon launch as well because there are always problems. That's why it's always a good idea to wait for them to work out the bugs before you buy

This happens on every console launch, it's just that people use the internet for shit like this than before. I remember getting my brand new launch xbox which couldn't read any discs, I eventually returned it and got a new one. Oh and when I got GTA V, my first disc didn't work after like 2 times, I eventually got a new one by returning the old one for a new one which works perfectly.

5 RepliesIt's up to 10 now. IT HAS DOUBLED!
-
10 RepliesThat is why I'm waiting. Just in case. Never want to go through a RROD like situation again.
-
4 RepliesThis is why you should always avoid getting the first edition of gadgets kiddies. Let them work out the chinks first.
-
Sucks for Sony. They better hope this isn´t more widespread because they could get in serious shit for this. Lets see how the xb1 launch goes.
-
This is why I always wait for at least a couple of months before getting a new console.

1 ReplyEdited by Gatsby: 11/14/2013 11:13:47 PMI'm not getting either one till later on this year. All launch games are shit anyway.

5 RepliesEdited by Lord Commissar: 11/15/2013 8:21:56 AMWow, I called this shit back when they were showing off the build of the PS4. The fanboys almost convinced me it wouldn't be an issue back then too. Sony can't afford an RROD, this might end up being bad news bears.
-
I think that all launches are bound to have these problems. Hopefully the second model of the PS4 will work much better than this model :/
-
1 ReplyIf the amount of bricked consoles has released, where's the figure?

Kotaku's was fixed. Nothing wrong with the visit, just a small piece of metal causing an obstruction in the hdmi port. Fixed with a pin.

2 RepliesI'm a pure Xbox fanboy, let's just get that out of the way. In all fairness, Xbox, PS, and Nintendo don't belong in sealed plastic boxes. Those store units break so often it's not even funny.... The console is practically cooking itself. Let's hope that most PS4's and Xbox Ones work just fine. Nothing worse than a gamer that can't enjoy his console because of bugs.
