Beta Code Giveaway! (Short Story Contest)

I've decided to host a short-story writing contest, as a means to give away my spare beta code. I could just give it to someone, but I figured a contest would be a little bit more fun. If you're interested in participating, read on. In Destiny, every Guardian is presented with the opportunity to become legend and as we all know, every legend has a beginning. The contest I'll be hosting will require you to write a short origin-story detailing why your Guardian left The Last City. Simple enough task, right? Well, before you get started, there are a few rules: 1.) The story can be as short as you like, but it can't be longer than 5 paragraphs. 2.) Although there is very little to worry about, keep the story lore friendly. 3.) Use proper grammar and spelling. The entries will be judged by me and me alone. Judging will begin on Monday, October 14 at 8:00pm EST. Any stories posted or edited after 8:00pm will be ineligible for the prize. Anyway, with all that out of the way, you guys can start writing! Good luck!

  • Since child, her dreams of liberty wandered incessantly through her mind. Day and night, during each cold winter, during each windy autumn dawn, every time the alarms rang on the Last City, indicating another invasion, memories of fear, anxiety. She felt nauseous, death thoughts wandered in her head, Women and childen were never able to hide the pain, fear and rage. Fear to lose another loved one in every moment, Rage to never be able to fight for them. Her father, half-machine half-human, a fearless soldier and a heartless warrior captain of the New Monarchy, the Wall last's defensive line, and the most fearsome of all. Memories, blurred, dark and trivial memories from her childhood, represed by her mind to evade the anxiety and pain it caused to see him leave every time. ...and every time he left, she stayed close to that, cold iron door, grey as the Moon surface, and cold as Jupiter's Moon Eurpa, just because the smell of cold industial Iron, and the ice cold feel the door provided, was the closest sensation to bring her back her memories, Memories of times where her father and her could share a meal together. Even the view from the highest watchtower couldn't provide him with the view he wanted to see, the soft, delicated round and brown eyes of his daughter, the real reason for him to load his gun, to aim and to pull the trigger, He knew she would soon be promoted from the Last City's Traveller University. She was meant to follow the path of her father, on her on way. She wasn't provided with the muscles of her father, But she mannaged to prove herself worthy to study and dominate power, Time had came, he could just carry on with his duty. He had made a blood promise, to protect with his life every citizen on the Last City... ...and even thought he didn't showed any feeling thought his body or actions, His fellow soldiers could feel in the air, taste in the water and sense in the earth the pain, Proyective pain, memories of that moment when that Devil Walker blasted his plasma cannon, The smell of burnt meat was never so real, and his surprise to know the smell was comming from him. The coma, the dreams he had during his pass though the recovery, The feeling of waking up and seeing his face, half machine, half human. But he couldn't do anything now, she was ready. And so he set his vigil staying strong, staying proud, staying pure. But most of all brave, To await...his Destiny.

    • A simple man sat on a simple stool in a simple house. There was a simple knock on the door, the simple man's wife simply walked in without taking a simple glance towered the simple man. The man simply stated, "Being simple isn't as simple as it seems." And simply they both lived their simple lives.
