Non-competitive, filthy casual ones.
However, this isn't really going to be an issue anymore due to the demand for more E-sport titles on the rise.
I would really love to see more arena style shooters again (Quake 3, Unreal).

Have you seen over watch? Seems like it could be good for e-sports. And just fun in general

It does have potential; it kind of reminds me of Shadow Run.

Come play Quake Live!

Tried it already back when it was released. Didn't care for it, especially with the whole connection issues. The lack of blood and gore was a little underwhelming as well. They should make a modern Quake arena.

Edited by Ttasmmv: 9/24/2013 1:31:01 PMSince the beta more servers have been utilized globally. If you couldn't play on a local server then you may be able to now. Where do you live? (:- ) I think Quake Live lessening its violent facade is a good thing. Quake's not a murdering simulator, but a game of intellect, reaction, and poise. The blood and gore found in previous versions of Quake were not representative of that, and if e-sports is to grow the violent facades many games employ have to be stripped away. As competitive gamers we see the game for what it is, but when others observe it they often struggle to get past that violent facade. Quake Live can exist in the abstract, and I'm a proponent for further diminishing its violent facade: remove human outlines, the semblence of weapons, deaths, and murder. If traditional sports aren't restricted by age, why must Quake Live as an e-sport be reserved for those who're 17+ or those who've obtained parental permission? I encourage you to give Quake Live another go. FaceIt currently hold weekly tournaments for North American and European players, and there's others in the community who host many more all over the world! The internet-center for competitive Quake Live is ESReality. GL&HF!
There are plenty of games in the E-sports that have a blood and "gore". Quake is not a childs game, I can't take it seriously without the two. Its still a dumbed down version of Quake 3, I'd rather them make a new one.

It's the same game besides bug fixes.
