I wouldn't see why not, they 'elevate' gameplay. They are fun, provide quicker movement, and its being done by a lot of developers.
Imagine if you could move your Guardian like it was Mirrors Edge, wouldn't that be interesting?

No, that would make multiplayer chaotic.
-
For people that weren't good at Mirrors Edge. For people that were it would only add depth and more immersive combat.
-
I also agree with this, simple movement wouldn't over-complicate things.
-
If it was movement like Mirrors Edge that would be truly quite something but then again, free running on that level is not exactly something everyone can do. I think it would make the game too complex then and would make the characters seem too unrealistic.

Yea, your right, people would be be falling left and right. But for people coordinated enough, it truly would be a amazing experience. Mirrors Edge was one of my favorites, and I am highly anticipating the second. As for realism, its 700 years in the future lol, free-running should still be around, and in post apocalyptic earth, it would be a great way to traverse cities and get around. I want an option wether or not to turn on Free running physics and controls now.
