Halo 5 Forge Wishlist - Your Top 5

Alright Forgers, what five things do you want to see in Halo 5's next gen Forge mode? My list: 1. Terrain shaper (hills, caves, cliffs, rivers, waterfalls) with the ability to make the ground snow, desert, etc. 2. Atmosphere editing, including weather like rain, snow and fog, and also the time of day 3. Texture skins for the pieces. You'd select a piece and change its skin to Forerunner, UNSC, Covenant, etc. 4. Expanded palette. More trees, rocks, platforms, buildings, AND COVENANT PIECES!!! 5. Improved editing controls. Magnet overhaul, grouping objects and moving those groups, precision tuning, smart merging to limit z-fighting, etc.

  • I think everyone has pretty much covered everything but there should be a trust player option for online editing.

  • 1. More map scenery objects like dead bodies, destroyed vehicles, bullet holes, blood splotches, and urban/natural decay on objects(rust, cracks etc.), 2. Atmosphere settings to change such as weather, time of day, gravity, and map background sounds(ambient explosions, ambient gunfire, ambient yelling, and ambient animal sounds to give the maps more of a immerse feel to them ). 3. Tool Fixes. Fix the Magnets so they actually work, no more "Generating Lighting Please Wait" popup to slow down gameplay, bring back coordinates, and bring back the Zoom In as the Monitor to move things much more steadily. 4. A 1000 object limit per category on every single object relating to structures and map scenery. 40 or 50 is just too little of an amount sometimes. 5. Much bigger maps than the sorry excuses of Forge Maps we got in Halo 4. Wouldn't mind if both Forge World and Sandbox would return. If they were to come back, Forge World should have more areas to access and Sandbox should be at least 3x bigger. As for original maps, a snow-themed Forge map and city-themed Forge map would be awesome.

  • In no particular order: 1: custom sized blocks 2: ability to copy and move several pieces at once 3: much higher limits on the number of pieces 4: ability to better color items, including weapons and vehicles 5: laser faces while in edit mode

  • I think it should be split into two separate categories. 1st. A complete map editor/designer kind of like something in Sim City, that allows to create the hills, rivers, terrain, trees elements all that stuff. 2) The Forge editor but expanded with all the other great ideas listed here. This way all the great forging groups can make unlimited maps far beyond the imagination.

    1. More pieces than in Halo 4 2. More game types than in Halo 4 3. Bigger budget 4. Covenant stuff 5. More customizable textures (icons, colors, ability to retexture using other in-game textures so any wall type pieces look good on any map, etc.)

    • 1: Reach forge systems reinvited, with 'model skins' (windows as walls, Forerunner, Human, Covenant, Cov-Rem...) 2: Ragdoll enemy/friend models, like Gmod, for screenshot/scene purposes. 3: More everything (vehicles, map parts, no killzones unless you make them). 4: More ascetic options, such as, in open-sky maps, weather/sky options should be gametype specific, light projecting objects. 5: Object 'attach', you can make an area-of-effect zone that merges objects together (Vehicles can be 'deconstructed' into parts (guns, etc...) so you can make a Ghost with a Banshee cover, etc...) ), this will allow players to make custom vehicles (even a freaking Scarab), also a Gmod thing.

    • One thing; Custom Spartan and Elite colours in Forge. It'd be great for Machinima's. It's like they don't think we can realize who our teammates are without forced team colours.

        Magnets that lock pieces together correctly. Fine editing. Do not load lighting in forge (That was annoying as hell). Ability to phase weapons and vehicles (Imagine being able to put a stationary rocket hog turret!)

        • 1. A better version of "Magnets". 2. Maybe change the time of day/night. 3. Maybe, like for Firefight maps, you can have spawn points for bots or other enemies. 4. Maybe another giant map, like Forge World from Halo Reach. But it would need huge areas of sky, for making aerial maps and such. 5. Maybe get rid of at least [i]some[/i] the insta-death boundaries on the edges of maps. They aren't fun.

        • 5. I want the textures of objects to cause more strain on my eyes. 4. More lens flares 3. Smaller maps with less objects to forge with 2. Even worse skyboxes and make sure there isn't a map on a Halo array 1. Take away more features

          • 1. Terrain shapers would not be a good idea for gameplay issues. So instead there should be like 5 open worlds with a preset terrain, like forge world, each with a unique theme and objects. This would take away the need of the developers making additional maps since they can use these 5 worlds to make any sort of map. 2. There should be custom barriers that can be shaped freely, beyond it's limits would be only images, not objects that will react to a player or bullet thus not being a burden to online connections. 3. Having more money or objects will only burden online gaming. The developers give us that amount for a reason, same goes for bots. Something that would spice things up is a good stationary turret/vehicle, unlike the useless shades, even if it has bad accuracy, it should make up with rate of fire, damage and projectile speed (again referring to the shade). A weapon that can take care of medium sized vehicles, like hogs and banshees in a certain range. Today's weaponry can rival that of covenant weaponry for murder's sake... 4. "Coloring" terrain would be cool too, like adding touches of grass or sand etc. 5. Last but not least, we need a sort of tutorial or checklist that will help us create a gametype, like: ___To make a Neutral Flag gametype you may need: _Initial spawn points (description, what use is it, how do i use it etc.) _Flag stand (description, what use is it, how do i use it etc.)

            1. FORGE WORLD!!! 2. Also bots. 3. No, or higher, budget. 4. If there is a budget: more palette options/larger palette. 5. Not Halo 4 Forge. 6. Also (even if they aren't in the main game) Falcons/Hornets (or maybe both!)
