If you're frightened by Dead Space then I suggest you start playing E rated games. The Dead Space games are all great IMO, but they lack in scares and fright. Something they heavily advertise the game as. Dead Space had a great atmosphere, and Dead Space 2 and 3 had better gameplay. But none of them are scary.

  • Cheap? Lol did you even play the game? Almost all of their scares were very well implemented. It was made to jump-scare and it executed this amazingly. To say that the scares were cheap is a lie or a flat out opinion.

  • Jump scares are a natural reaction for living things. Saying that they execute a natural reaction is silly. The scares are not well implemented at all. I felt no fear of inevitable danger, no anticipation, and no hesitation to enter any room. The only thing scary about Dead Space is how it's passed as a horror game. If anything it's an action shooter with Aliens. Just like how Halo is with the Flood.

  • I won't even continue. You really haven't played the game or feel no fear. The scares are extremely well implemented Im not even going to bring up examples seeing that they would have no effect on you.

  • I've completed both Dead Space and Dead Space 2 100% and Dead Space 3 on hardcore. The games aren't scary at all. A scripted scare isn't something Visceral should be proud of, and it's nothing you should be impressed by either. I only commend them for making a fun game, not a scary one.

  • I'm not arguing anymore seeing that it won't get me anywhere but I'm sure you didn't play Dead Space like a mindless freak not feeling anything at all. I don't even know what to say if you played it like I said before.

  • It's not supposed to be a fun game, it was but its supposed to be a horror and it did a great job at it. Let me guess Slender didnt scare you either did it?

  • After a while it becomes predictable when a necromorph is going to burst through the wall five feet in front of you.

  • Not so much. It's not just necromorphs that jump out at you, it's images and other sounds. The game was only predictable in the fact that necromorphs came out of air vents.
