Dr. Who what is so wondrous about it?
I have never watched a single episode of Dr. Who, but I hear it being talked about a lot. Especially from my British friends. I am just wondering, what is so good about it? Why is it such a huge deal these days?

You need to watch a few episodes. If you find Christopher Eccelston annoying, ignore series 1. David Tennant and Matt Smith made the show interesting to watch, for me at least.

I like it. It's been a part of British culture for 50 years, so it's understandable that your British friends would like it. I got into the series after my dad started watching it in 2005 and I came to love it. I like the sci-fi elements and the storyline along with the fact that there is so many layers to it.

Watch the Tennant and Eccleston era. The script and storytelling are superb. Keep in mind the effects aren't that top notch though, but nobody watches Dr Who for the CGI.
