Anybody who read First Strike knew Jun was not inside CASTLE, Halsey was alone. No single trace of jun. Therefore Jun's fate was uncertain.

What? That's preposterous, Jun was not in the stronghold, but he was in the complex, there is no other location on Reach that could withstand glassing. Unless of course you want to tell me that he was off planet after direct orders to protect Halsey?

It's possible that he was inside the complex for some time, but CASTLE base was completely destroyed by both explosive charges, covenant digging and an energy projector drilling a huge hole. Alot could have happened with him but we really do not know. He could have survived outside CASTLE in some non glassed area. It's possible because some other Spartans did that with an admiral. CASTLE sure as hell was one of the worst places to be in after the battle because of the huge amount of covies trying to uncover a Forerunner artifact
