Well....shit.
Not sure how I feel. I doubt we'll see Jun ever again, and I liked the theme that all of Noble Team died in ways relating to their character.

Oh no, a character survived Reach, everything is ruined!
-
Edited by Master Chief: 7/25/2013 12:18:31 AMEverything isn't ruined, but it was a nice theme that all the characters disappeared or died in ways relating to their character, I don't know why 343 had to change that unless they have some big Jun comeback coming up (which I doubt). And please show me when someone had said Jun's story wasn't done, and that he confirmed wasn't killed.

Halo Reach Legendary Edition - Listened to it myself. I've searched for the interview this entire time. I know it exists though as people reference the fact 343i said they had no immediate plans for Jun's character.

Edited by Master Chief: 7/25/2013 12:46:22 AMUntil you show me it I'm not buying it, as almost everyone in previous threads have agreed that Jun's death was highly implied. In the revised edition of first strike novel it says that Halsey's "Spartan guardian" died so she could get to Castle base. Even if they DID plan for Jun to come back, doesn't mean I can't continue to think it's dumb as hell.

i dont know what the comic is, but i saw a comice reel that had jun offering palmer the spot in the spartan 4's....... Ill have to find a link ^^

Nice necro bump.

thx completely unintentional

It's true. Bungie on the Legendary Edition Campaign Commentary or whatever confirm Jun is not dead. They don't explicitly say he is alive, but that he is not dead. I think they even mention something about story limbo, IIRC. It's been years since I've seen it.
In the revised edition of first strike novel it says that Halsey's "Spartan guardian" died so she could get to Castle base.
Yup, and everyone forgets to check the date and realize that it lines up with when Master Chief had to save her on the Booster Frames.
Until you show me it I'm not buying it, as almost everyone in previous threads have agreed that Jun's death was highly implied.
I'm with you. I was arguing since day 1 that he didn't make it off Reach, when 343i said his story wasn't done, I assumed they would eventually get around to showing how he died. I frankly don't care whether you believe if that interview exists or not. I acknowledge its existance, DecipticonCobra does, and so does ajw. Besides, Bungie said he wasn't dead, and 343i obviously weant with Bungie's decision.
-
Again,
Even if they DID plan for Jun to come back, doesn't mean I can't continue to think it's dumb as hell.
-
As long as you acknowledge Bungie left his story open ended for a reason, and that it's official canon, that's all I care.
-
Master Chief.
-
My dawg Buck survived that shit
-
Don't you get it, he survived! It's ruined! Both his and Jun's survival completely destroy the Campaign that already destroyed pre-existing canon!
-
I feel your sarcasm, but still I get what Aang means by breaking theme of the game. 343 doesn't need to go further and literally say he was alive unless they plan to do something with it, otherwise they're just screwing around with canon even more.
-
It doesn't matter. Bungie confirmed he wasn't dead, and later 343i confirmed he wasn't dead back in early 2011. Aang should have seen this coming. Heck, when 343i said that they even said his story wasn't done and that they don't have any plans for his character in the immediate future. Well, it's the future, and here we are.
-
Yeah it completely destroys the theme of Noble team sacraficing themselves to save Reach.
-
343 just has to continue to ruin things, one small detail at a time.
