I could barely see the telltale wavering of the Elite’s camo as it ran across the path below us. We both unloaded with our pistols. The Elite’s shields flashed once, twice, then it got away. We restarted the level. The Falcons dropped us off. We sprinted across the grass. At the top of the last hill, we let loose. It got away again. It took several tries. He would shoot while I reloaded. Finally, “He’s down!” Spartan said. I dropped my controller and started dancing.
