The full story.
I moved to a new high school in the Fall of 2010. I had just come back to school for my second Sophomore year, after being shut in my house due to some social anxiety issues. I was having a really difficult time fitting in 'cause I was socially inept and (I'm told) looked kinda intimidating. I usually sat near some people so I wouldn't stand out, but a few seats away 'cause I didn't know anybody. On this particular day I sat next to a group of people who happened to be talking about Halo. I thought the conversation was interesting, but I was more focused on myself. I started freaking out; thinking people were watching me and I felt the onset of an anxiety attack when one of the guys made an offhand remark about what type of weapon I would use if we were playing Halo together. I responded with something along the lines of: “Nah. I prefer the Battle Rifle.” After lunch he asked me if I wanted to go to our high schools baseball game. It was during school, so I didn't have a reason to say no. Neither of us were very interested in sports, so he brought up Halo again. We talked about all the fun we had with the Halo games and about the upcoming release of Halo: Reach. That was the least boring sporting event I've ever been to. Ever since that day, we've played games together and are still friends, despite us going to different colleges. I was even able to get over my social anxiety. I've had a lot of experiences that I don't think would have happened if it weren't for the games you guys make. Thanks!]
