I have been thinking this for a long time now and in sure I'm not the only one.
I think Xbox $ PS4 should make it that you can buy something's with your Gamerscore like...
* 1 month Xbox live
* Avatar clothes
* games
* M$ points
Plus you can enter in raffles for "A chance to win." Don't worry, your life time total of your Gamerscore will always show like it does today, your remaining Gamerscore can only be seen by you

1 ReplyIt's a cool idea. But gaming companies are way to greedy to do something like this. And if they did, it would be a ridiculously small number. 10,000 Gamerscore = 100 MS Points.
-
I like the idea.
-
8 RepliesNo. I see this shit all the time on the Xbox forums and it is by far one of the most stupid ideas ever. MS is not going to pay you to play their games. -blam!-ing retarded.
-
Before I got into Xbox live, I honestly thought that's what the gamerscore was for....
-
I thin a good idea would be to give 400 MS Points for every 2500 gamerscore you earn. It would make for a good incentive to actually go for achievements.
-
maybe they will give us 10 cents per 1000 gs
-
As a consumer, I obviously like that, but Microsoft won't do it. Gamerscore really needs to do more than it does now where it's just for show and doesn't do anything, but Microsoft probably won't bother going any further with it.
-
1 ReplyNah, this wouldn't work with gamerscore the way it is now. If you could buy things people would just borrow or rent easy GS games. It could only really work with DRM and no used games, but that's awful and not worth it. Or maybe it could work with digital games that are linked to gamertags. Actually, that would be good for Microsoft and Sony to do. You get people to download games from their stores instead of buying discs to cut out the middle man, then you reward them for doing so.

They should instead do what steam does with the trading cards.
-
Well atleast Indie Games or Avatar Clothes, the biggest waste of money is Avatar clothes
-
18 RepliesNo, cause the prices would be horrendous. I have ~90,000 and I'd probly be able to get a keychain.
-
1 ReplyIt's an idea as old as Gamerscores themselves. It'd be nice but... it is MS we're talking about here, you know?
-
1 ReplyBuy stuff? No. It'll just cause people to boost achievements more than they already do. They should, however, be more meaningful than they are now. It what way, I have no idea.
-
1 Reply#gaming And maybe, just small stuff for free. Not buying and no big things like full games.
-
1 ReplyOnly to change your Gamertag. But either A) Increase the cost of such a change B) Decrease the amount of gamer score points you receive for each achievement. I'm suggesting single digit achievements.
-
When I first bought my Xbox I thought that's how it worked. I think it should but only small stuff.
-
That's what I used to think when I first got a Xbox 360.
-
Ubisoft does something similar to this idea with their Uplay point system (for unlocking certain achievements/trophies in the game). You can then use these points to buy DLC/extras for their games. However, I pretty much only see complaints about it because of the fact you have to buy those DLC/extras with Uplay points....

6 RepliesWhen I first got gamerscore, I was all like "Sweet! Now I can get the Legendary Map Pack for Halo 3!" than I got to the marketplace and realized how stupid I was.

2 RepliesXbox One will not be using Microsoft Points, instead opting for direct purchases with real currency. Concerning the topic, however, it is an interesting proposition, but one that doesn't provide a profit and is honestly quite stupid. You buy a $60 game for the experience alone. Your reward is an achievement and a numerical value which shouldn't benefit anything but the game itself.
-
You have it flipped around.
-
There should be a benefit to having GamerScore.. yes.. It needs to play a bigger role! More points, means more money made.
