I was a bit underwhelmed, but only because I was (mistakenly so) expecting something that would touch on the open-world sense of the world. Game play reveals tend to feel stages and paired with the terrible commentary it was just a little tough for me to leap with joy. Don't get me wrong, I will buy this game and play it to death, but I'm still waiting to see what makes this game stand apart from Borderlands, Defiance or Halo.

  • Defiance, needed to stay in the cooker a bit longer (and that is saying that they had I believe 5 years to work on it....) It can be fun but there is a serious lack of content, even for release, and bugs that continue to persist (though getting better). Just based on what is already known and the bit we have seen so far in-game, I am thinking that Destiny will be a much better game.

  • My thoughts exactly. Hopefully they'll be able to articulate throughout the week what sets Destiny apart – investment over a long period of time in the building of your character's legend in this massive, persistent world. Adam Sessler has stated that unlike on TV, Rev3Games will let Bungie's demo with them go on for "as long as it needs to." Music to my ears. There will also, of course, be plenty of other coverage on the game from various sources around the web. I'm particularly looking forward to hearing Jeff Cannata's thoughts after he gets to spend some time with the Bungie guys. I always loved his input on the Totally Rad Show.

Some of the most awesome Halo cutscenes involve the giant ships in atmosphere. This is the first game I have ever seen where the physics of a giant ship in the atmosphere feels realistic. Defiance is a huge ball of cheese compared to this, and I think that - to the good - Destiny will regulate the number of fireteams coming into public events. (Public Events, needs a cooler name).
