Warlock is the Healer class
Traditionally there has always been Tanks, Healers and DPS in games with classes. Titan = tank Hunter = DPS thus Warlock must be the Healer of the 3 classes, provided there won't be any other classes released. I do imagine that all 3 classes will have dps spec's but hey, I really know nothing and this is pure speculation.

2 RepliesSince it's still a shooter, I can't see healing abilities being relevant. Just wait 3 seconds and you're healed anyways.

1 ReplyThe first thing i heard about us was " The Order of the Sun is a more subtle focus built around buffing and protecting allies." and immediately i thought what a complete and utter bullshit undersell of a healing focus which will prove paramount to unlocking and completing the more difficult raid, dungeon, and endgame content in Destiny. Anyone who has put in time with any of the classic mmo's must realize the importance of the healing role during difficult gameplay. Maybe I'm jumping the gun here but I cant be the only one who feels this way can I ? Let me know what you think ,and lets get some more info out there for the warlock guardian healers coming soon to "The Order of the Sun"

1 ReplyI would hate for the warlock to be a healer. It seems so inferior to everything else. He would seem useless if he was alone in a battle.

Well, my class during the alpha was Warlock because I liked the idea of the "magic' offensive class. I can't see how it's a healer or In fact that there are even traditional classes at all! Not once in the alpha did I get the feeling of specific roles ie damage, tank or healer. If Warlock IS a healer, I won't be playing it.

Warlocks only seem to focus on offensive spells. Nothing defensive, sorry.

3 RepliesI kind of hope it isn't a healer really, I'd be fine it could protect us somewhat but I don't want to but I don't want to rely on the Warlock to stay alive.

I'm thinking Warlocks will be the DPS class. They have the least armor, which traditionally means the most offensive prowess. They may, or may not, be able to heal teammates as well.

"Warlocks" are mages that focus all their power on offensive capabilities. Offensive capabilities = not healer

They should have some type of support class here. Would be boring if all we did is run around and shoot at people. Hardly an attention grabber as there are 50 million games that do this already. I'm just glad they made up their own races and kept the damn Tolkien ones out...

5 RepliesWe're gonna do this fancy thing called MATH. Destiny =/= MMO, so Titan =/= Tank, Hunter =/= DPS, and so therefore we can be quite sure Warlock =/= Healer. Get it. (Besides, he's totally a burst mage.)

Healers are boring, and all too often warp the metagame around themselves. I really don't think we need healers in an FPS.

6 RepliesPlease no...I sincerely hope bungie throws the whole MMO Class system out of the window. I hope Bungie does something innovative and makes it so that all classes can perform well in any facet of co-operative combat. Also, if anything there shouldn't be healing at all. Rather every class has unique defensive capabilities to enhance survivability (ie: Warlocks get force fields). I mean, after all, Bungie has been emphasizing that Destiny IS NOT an MMO in the traditional sense of the phrase.

That has been the traditional set up, you're right. I am hopeful that the Warlock is much more important and interesting than simple healing. I wrote this elsewhere, but I really don't like the idea of having a "Secondary" or support class. I want the presence of a class in a firefight to change the tactics I'd use to win. Having a warlock that can do all sorts of things beyond simple heals and buffs... which just amplify existing tactics.

2 RepliesI hope every class can have "healer" abilities. I want to be a Warlock for my main profile. I don't want to always be expected to heal people. That would get annoying fast because people would be constantly shouting at you to heal them.
