So, next gen gaming...

Look at the prices of these games. One thing I don't get is that M$ and $ony are more than likely going to be raising the prices of their games. Why do this when you will have to pay that same price when you buy a new game? Shouldn't they actually lower the price of next gen games? For example: 1) Let's say a new game would cost about 40 or 50 dollars. 2) Now, let's say someone bought a used game for around $20. 3) For that person to play the game though, he/she would have to pay the price of a new copy. That would be a total of about $60 or $70. My point is, Microsoft and Sony would still be making a profit, without having to raise the price of games about 20 or so dollars higher. Sadly, I doubt they would actually do this. Your thoughts?

It's already been stated from multiple sources like Polygon and Wired that used games will not have a fee. It still connects with an account because the console will read the game from the HDD and not the disk, but if you buy a used game or borrow to your buddy, the game will connect to their account leaving the game mute on yours until you put the disk back in. At no extra cost. Those prices are placeholders. Expect the games to be around 60-70 at launch but nothing more

  • In my opinion xbox one games should be around the same price as PC games if i understand how they are being implemented.

  • It is an ign article so take from it what you will. But sony has said $60 will be the price for the games. Them prices you linked are more then likely placeholders.

  • The used-game fee is debunked, if that's what you mean? But I do agree that a $100 selling price is a bit too much. If this is the case I definitely won't be buying too many games. I already limit my library to only the best titles, so I guess next-gen will be even more the same. I'm not sure who's hurting most from this though, MS or the lesser-known developers.
