The Main Character "Gulliver Foyle" is at one point tattooed with a tiger pattern on his face. At the end of the novel, he teleports around the galaxy looking for habitable planets for humanity; they await his return as a savior figure. A "traveller"? A "Tiger Man"? And the title; "The Stars My Destination"? Hm.
Read the plot synopsis and let me know what you think; could this be the book Destiny is based on?

I'm sure, just like with all and any well--written stories to the well--read writers there is a constant inspiration from other stories and writers and historical accounts, and naturally this all sort of jumbles together before being spilled onto paper mixed with unique imaginations, revised, edited, edited, revised, brainstormed... In the end it's a new story with many references that can be drawn from the story. All alluding to one thing or another. All of it beautifully written. Aw I love Bungie, from the writers to the artists, designers, all of 'em. Even the janitors. Does Bungie have janitors?

5 RepliesThere could be some things that are drawn from that but for the most part it is based off of the three swords and their wielders.

I'd say there is definitely some inspiration there for sure.

Bungie continues to astound me.

It's very likely, I had read awhile back that they draw all sorts of inspiration from books, they're all reading multiple books and sharing them all the time. So probably.

2 Repliesinteresting connections. Bungie would seem to gain inspiration all over the place, so quite possible.
