EDIT: check out the comic contest I'm hosting https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/111820381/0/0/1 So after I posted a question thread about the Destiny books I saw some deep divisions in the preferences of some of our readers, even some saying they don't like videogame books! (I know, right?) So I've decided to make a thread where you say who would be your ideal Destiny author! I'd be excited to see Patrick Rothfuss as an author, he seems pretty good at medival fantasy, I think such a skill could translate into the world of Destiny quite well. Whose name do you want to see underneath the title of a Destiny novel? (you can choose more than one)

    • So there I was, cruising through the forgotten shore on my fully upgraded sparrow. I was but a humble warlock, garbed in the remains of Crota's fallen minions. Suddenly I was surprised by a vandal which had appeared from a nearby cave as he rammed the side of my sparrow and sent me skidding across the dirt and mud. Quickly I rose to my feet and pulled out my fang of ir yut, sending a volley of bullets directly at his skull. To my surprise, the vandal sprinted to the left, narrowly avoiding all of my shots and then charged as I moved to reload. I narrowly avoided a quick right hook, and then a left, but succumbed to a heavy kick to the center of my chest. As I flew backwards, I gathered the light of the void and hurled an axion bolt grenade at him before catching myself with my other hand and stabilizing my body. The grenade made contact on the ground in front of him and I thought surely this was his end. But as the bolt of void light exploded upon his chest I was shocked to see him continue his charge. There was no time to draw a weapon, all I could do was face him head on. So as he drew near I reared back my fist and struck a mighty blow blended with void light upon his head. This stopped his charge for the moment but his body did not give way. To my surprise, this vandal began to mimic human laughter, mocking my futile attempt to end his life. He then pressed forward against my fist, ether leaking from a crack in his skull plate. Before I could react further I felt his right fists connect with my stomach before being grabbed by his left hands and tossed backwards once again. Again I was able to catch myself after traveling several feet backwards, and the vandal was once again approaching me. This time he had pulled out his tracer rifle and fired off several rounds at me. I quickly rolled to the right and then jumped back and into the air, pulling out my gjallarhorn. "Smile you son of a bitch!" I cried as I pulled the trigger and loosed a rocket directly at the vandal. Much to my surprise the vandal made no attempt to flee but put up his arms defensively as the rocket impacted and exploded upon his form, followed by several smaller explosions from the wolf pack rounds. I landed about fifteen yards away and smiled to myself. But my celebration was all too soon. As the dust and water droplets settled I saw the vandal standing there, multiple cracks in his armor leaking his precious ether. Again he was laughing, still mocking me it would seem. "What are you!?" I cried out in anger, though I expected no response. Angrily I charged at the vandal and gathered my void light once again, this time intending to unleash my nova bomb. As I drew near I began to throw my hand forward to unleash my gathered energy, only to have it caught as the vandal rushed forward, the energy shooting off to the right and exploding harmlessly against the cliff side. Immediately I felt his fists connect with my helmet, knocking me backwards again. This time he gave chase, jumping atop of me as I hit the ground. Again and again his fists connected with my helmet as I lay there, each one cracking my electronic display more and more until finally my helmet shattered and his fists hit my exposed flesh. Relentlessly his blows came, and I could feel unconsciousness slipping upon me fast. But then he stopped, grabbed my armor and pulled me up face to face with him. "You will be the harbinger of doom, guardian. For I have found my path to ascension! Run back to your precious tower! Tell them to prepare, for a storm is coming. The wolves gather and prepare their assault, and it is I who will lead their charge! Go now! Lest I reconsider my generosity." With that, the vandal dropped me and turned to walk away, unconsciousness taking me soon after. Randal has become the kell of the house of wolves... Traveler help us all

            • I have only read one book series based on a video game. It started off excellent and ended up quite disappointing. It was the "Myst" book series. NOTE: The only video game I have played which deserves a book, or could potentially become a great book: is Deus Ex.
