Woooooooooooooow.
Socialism and capitalism aren't mutually exclusive you fucking idiots. We have socialism right now: healthcare, education, postal services, etc. To not agree with any sort of socialism, is to be an extreme libertarian.

Socialized medicine is the way to go. This private health care business is evil and broken. This health care program that will happen is a good start in the right direction to people who are unable to get health care now. And if you hate it with a passion you are most likely from the right side of things.

Agreed.

mfw people actually think this
-
Umm... what? That's a fact. Just because you are uncomfortable with saying the government has socialist elements, does not mean you can redefine it.

Socialism isn't the same thing as having a handful of services, like education and healthcare, nationalised to a degree. It's a general system of collectivised industry and production.

There are many definitions of socialism. You are referring to total socialism. As I said, the U.S. has elements of socialism.
-
There are many kinds of socialism, but there's really only one widely used definition.

Edited by Dustin: 5/3/2013 2:37:09 AMSocialism that controls the income of people is mutually exclusive from capitalism. But my point was that socialist policies do coexist within capitalism.

Yeah, I suppose that's fair.

As an extreme libertarian, I agree with this. Any service from the government is socialism like the ones you listed.
