Why are most smart people atheist?
Even the smart guy that goes to my church secretly doesn't believe!
Why Flood Whyyyy??
EDIT: It seems as if higher education produces more atheist. If this is true, then are college institutions responsible for this connection?

It was the entrance to the cities. Since camels were generally tall, they would force the camel down on his knees and it had to scoot through the entrance. Wasn't easy hence the analogy. Think about it if you are rich and your needs are met, the natural man thinks he doesn't need God. Why he has everything he needs why does he need God. The same principle is for learned men and women. They think they know everything. Hell, my wife is a CRNA and works with doctor's that have been in their field for decades, and she says all the time not only are they beyond cocky and arrogant, but some of these people almost believe THEY ARE GOD! They play it all day long. And he said: "Truly I tell you, unless you change and (humble yourself) become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. -(Mathew 18:3) I added the humble part. Our country in general has forsake God and Jesus Christ. BUT remember the Prophets prophecide that in the last days this was exactly how it would be. Ok liberal commie democrats, go ahead and mock me.

If they claim with absolute certainty that God or gods do not exist, then they're not very smart at all. Same with anybody who claims with absolute certainty that God or gods do exist.

the smarter people are, the more clarity they see the world in. the more clarity they see the world in, the more a benevolent, omnipresent, omniscient being seems implausible; it does not fit the world that they see. so naturally, they are going to question or indeed turn away from belief in such a being.

There was other religions before christianity and more than likely be others after. Religion is more of a longer going cult.

Because education results in abandoning outdated and ignorant views associated with religion. That doesn't mean that those ignorant views have any business being associated with certain religions, but the majority of adherents tend to make it seem that they are. To give two examples, educated people are aware that there are biological reasons for homosexuality. The majority of Christians and Muslims hate homosexuals, so the association causes the educated person to mock the faith. Likewise, basic biology classes and genetics will have anyone with the slightest critical thinking ability accepting that evolution is the foundation of biology itself. A lot of religions teach a mythical view of the origin of life.
