Knowing Ron Paul, I'm sure these investments were not done recently, so I'm sure he still hasn't taken a paper loss. But no, I never believed gold was a good investment. I'd much rather be in equities. If you want to do commodities, do something like iron or steel that has depressed prices right now. Something with industrial value.
